Sometimes I do wish they were more basketball minded though, I feel like a lot of our miscues could been avoided if we had someone like Mark Cuban. But it's also good that they aren't so hands-on as owners meddling with the GM usually leads into disaster.

I do not agree with their political views like at all. But like mentioned before, no Magic player ever had something bad to say about the Devos family.

I always cringe when people say that they hope RDV sells the team, because my worst nightmare is that whatever new owner comes in, would move the team.

Sure, Cuban's done some good basketball stuff, but then you see today's news about the Mavs organization and i have not one ounce of fear that anything like that is going on in our organization, because of our ownership. I wouldn't take on inner company sexual and physical abuse for a championship.

I'm a big fan of the DeVos family owning the Magic.
I know nothing about the DeVos business practices or politics.
And I'm unhappy we aren't a consistently winning team.
But I love that they don't sign the bad troublemakers.
They TRY to keep the team as "clean as possible".
While that may or may not prevent us from ever getting a championship, I'd rather back a losing team of winners than a winning team of losers.
Keep your politics out of my sports

I disagree. Just from our last decade we've had a lot of people in our organization leave and get arrested. I'm sure I'm missing quite a few too.

Who cares if they're "troublemakers". That's why we're a losing team. We needed a dude like Barnes in our Dwight years. People will look at on-court stuff and turn their noses up at Cousins or Draymond or whoever else shows emotion or is a dick on the court, but won't say a peep about players accused of rape or loading up AK's in their duffle bags or bringing guns inside of the locker room (Payne or Appling).

I am currently reading the book Dark Money by Janet Mayer. I am politically pretty much an independent but the book is a compelling read on 18 billionaires committed to furthering the income gap, eliminating Medicare/Medicaid, and hijacking the Republican party. One of those 18 billionaires is Richard Devos. I believe that the Magic have bad karma because of that dude and management will always have an egotistical "take it or leave it approach" when trying to "retain" their own stars because that's who they are outside of the basketball world. I am happy that the Magic have a franchise but it was Pat Williams that got us the franchise initially... the Devos family bought it 2 yrs later. Devos has been a great corporate citizen but someone would have filled that void had they not bought the Magic. Someone always fills the void.
