If I'm Hezonja I'm getting in the best shape of my life ......for the next team I'm on .You have to shine playing with Shane Mack,Wes Iwandu ,Bismack Biyoumbo and Aaron affalo...scrubini"s on a last place team. This doesn't help your career in any way and the Magic are directionless. Sadly time to move on.

Not only has Vučević put up career numbers that are better than Monroe's, he has done it in a worse system.

Vučević is quantitatively better than Monroe, and that is not an arguable point.

The 1989 expansion Magic only took 5 yeas to get to the playoffs. This rebuild is Orlando's worst internal ever.

What part of those numbers indicates Vucevic is significantly better than Monroe?

I said he was "quantitatively better."

He scores more points per game and has more rebounds per game. And oddly, Vučević also has more blocks per game. These are the three statistical lines to look at for a Center slot. And in all three, Vučević is quantitatively better than Monroe.

Points and rebounds are relative to opportunity. People love to point to Vucevic's advanced stats for stuff a lot, and Monroe career-wise is better in almost every area there too according to basketball ref. Neither players are players I would like to build around. I think he's a better player currently than Monroe, but if we were to give Monroe the same opportunity that Vucevic has had here I don't think there would be much of a difference at all.

few years back Monroe was big time FA. That goes to show you how nba changes over short period of time

Here we agree that neither Vučević nor Monroe are difference makers. My view is that Vučević is "good-enough" at the Center slot and that the appallingly bad play at the SG slot and the crushing need for a PG trump any consideration of trading Vučević for a better Center (although trading Vučević for a competent guard is something to consider; (although I do not favor that either).

I always looked at Marc Gasol, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year just a few years ago, as what Vuc could be, slow footed but smart, not a shot blocker but good position defender...Now, Gasol, regardless of his age/slight decline is also a dinosaur...it's just a sign of the times for centers. Gasol, even at his peak, would not be a candidate for that award (today) without the ability to switch on PnR and protect the rim.

I think a full rebuild serves the team best. Instead of trying to come up with a package for Wall or Kawhi or another star like others have suggested, I believe the best way forward for Magic is to simply tank for 2 or 3 seasons and rebuild through the draft.

With two or three talented young players locked up under the rookies scale contract, the team will look much more appealing to other players, and Magic can then acquire other established stars in free agency.

Keep the pick, and try to package Fournier or Isaac to shed Biyombo's contract. Basically clear cap space, in anticipation of signing stars outright.

AG is a nice piece to keep, but depending on how much money he is offered, there is a legitimate cause for either letting him walk or doing some kind of S&T
