Right. And we have both with Gordon, which is why I think it make sense to sign him here.

we have 1 year with Gordon. and my comments were in general that basing a contract mostly off potential was generally a move that most teams regret.

Seems like the Magic's biggest regret recently was moving off players with potential who needed new contracts and watching them blossom elsewhere - no?

Look at Mario, everyone is upset we declined his option even though he was horrible until finally getting more minutes and having everything start to click. Will the Magic regret signing him and Gordon back here if they can? It seems like the answer is no.
