Vuc and Evan seem to think they are the "leaders" but all we have is a bunch of betas. That's why I'm not against taking a flyer on IT plus who ever we pick (Doncic )

Fournier needs to be moved in this, and I will resign Hezonja, so the Magic becomes:

Thomas/Augustin/Mack
Dončić/Ross/Iwundu
Isaac/Simmons
Gordon/Hezonja
Vučević/Biyombo/Birch

It's been working so far, so why stop now?

Actual starting level role players that can play together. Like an Avery Bradley/Nicholas Batum /Isiah Thomas level players which this team has failed to require time after time during the initial rebuild. Seriously, guys like Frye and Biyombo (Bench caliber players) shouldn't be your prized FA signings.

I would argue that Evan is the one to keep because he does valuable things in the modern NBA (can shoot 3's) vs Vuc who doesn't do valuable things in the modern NBA for big men (defend the paint).

Vučević has proven he can be an elite rebounder. And that is the most important skill for a Center.
As for defense, statistically Vučević is Orlando's best defender.

maybe 1 on 1, but we need a center that can help other players and that is not Vuc. And i would argue on rebounding being the most important skill for a center. and Vuc hasnt been elite in rebounding since his 2nd/3rd year here.

Jackson Jr. is growing on me. This would lead to Vučević being traded for a starting PG. Perhaps the Bucks need scoring from the C and consider trading Bledsoe.

The team begins as:
Bledsoe/Augustin/Mack
Fournier/Ross/Iwundu
Isaac/Simmons
Gordon
Jackson/Biyombo/Birch

I think any path to the Magic experiencing significant improvement starts with ridding themselves of Fournier. Yes, he’s offensively talented, but he’s tofu on offense once he gets the ball. It’s all about him. I’ve always hated that about him and all long as he’s a feature player here we’re going nowhere.

I get the modern nba argument on Vuc, but consider this...the NBA has had shifts like this before and they only last maybe 5 years. Example: the mid 2000’s everyone was trying to copy the ‘04 Pistons model. They won one title and the teams with elite big, San Antonio and Miami started winning titles again in short order. I’m not calling Vuc Tim Duncan by any means but he’s not this prodding caveman in the paint that others are convinced of.

In the end I think moving Vuc may be a key to major improvement. He’s got value and I believe a pg will be the Magic’s top priority this offseason, but NOT through the draft.
