If we re-sign AG I hope he sees himself more like Ben Simmons than Kevin Durant.

Yes, if. It's not written in stone. I can easily envision scenario in which some team offers him such big money that WeHam decide not to match. For me anything more than 18 mil per season is unacceptable. They may think something along those lines.

Defensive positioning. His approach to defense is rather rudimentary right now. He just chases his man, so he is never in position to help at the defensive end. Optimal positioning isn't right next to the man you are defending. You have to trust that your teammates will cover for you whenever you help though, which might be an issue for everyone on our roster at present, but Gordon has the tools to be far more impactful at the defensive end than he currently is.

I have no doubt at all that he will continue to grow at the offensive end, but for him to be worth his next contract, he will have to contribute more on the defensive side.

Yes. Big if. Sounds like Aaron and his agent and Orl management are not very close on the numbers as of now.
