I was thinking we could use #12+#5 or #6 to move up to grab Doncic. The Clips might do it if they see Isaac as their future center when Jordan leaves. He's better than anything #12 or #13 can get them.

1. Hell no
2. Isaac is not a center
3. Would rather try to trade them a player(s) for one of their picks.

Haha, thanks for the reply. That's what I'm looking for. However, you don't know for sure that Isaac CAN'T play center 1-2 years from now, so #2 doesn't count. And as a rebuilding team, what player would net us #12 or #13? Surely not Vuc or Fournier.

I dont see why fournier plus say our two #2s isnt worth 12 or 13?

I mean hes still young (25), has shown he can be a scorer (17-18ppg the past 2 years) and hes a very good shooter (46/87/38%)

I personally would prefer to keep him, and see how he does A) without his buddy Vuc and B) as a 2nd or 3rd options as opposed to a shared first option (we didnt really have a go to, just whoever had the hot hand or was most aggressive that day?)

Say we add a trae young and trade away Vuc, i think fournier and gordon could thrive as 2nd/3rd options with a true, defined #1 option like young.

I could see a lineup of Young/fournier/isaac/gordon being a very good core for the future, and then adding a good center (nothing special, just a serviceable big man, like say gortat if he is willing to sign a 2 year deal at a decent salary)

I’m all for WeHam drafting BPA, regardless of position, if AG is going to be moved. We don’t know what Isaac is yet, but we know he is at the very least a capable pf (the only position AG is capable of playing). The rest of the prospects are versatile enough to play next to Isaac, but not both. Take that opinion however you want, but it’s the likeliest scenario.

As far as the cap space regarding AG. No Orlando won’t be targeting anyone in free agency unless they plan on a massive overpay. However, matching him at max or close to it is risky. Why? Because he isn’t going to take less money down the road when he is in his prime. What then when Isaac is due for an extension or Orlando happens to actually draft someone worthy of a max?

If you don’t think he is worth a max now then why are you so convinced he will be worth that and get that in 4-5 years? I can appreciate either side of the argument but you’re trying to have one foot on each side.

If he is going to turn it on and become that player it will happen over the span of this coming contract. We will either see a star emerge for some of this deal or we will learn that he isn’t worth it right in time to actually need that money on someone else.

His value decreases as he ages and his contract gets bigger. That’s the bottom line regardless of what he becomes. I don’t necessarily believe he has the skill set, ability, or value to teams as a max level player. In the right system he could become that player maybe...There is no system here in Orlando and no go to for him to feed off.

If he isn’t deserving of max ( he isn’t ) what motivation does he have and how does that help Orlando in the future? We are now in a rebuild with him solidly positioned at PF as a 3rd option and lacking one if not two go-to players... Not only that, but everything I hear from the pro-Isaac crowd leads me to believe he does everything better and is already the better defender between the two.

So what is your alternative? What does signing AG stop us from doing over the next 4 years? You still haven’t answered that.

We can’t resign Isaac or our 2018 pick in that span even if we wanted to. Vuc, Ross and Biz are all big contracts coming off the books soon. We will have plenty of money to sign mid level vets around Isaac, AG, 2018 pick as they develop.

Your only argument is that he isn’t worth that much but that is for the market to decide, not you. Whatever the market decides is what what he is worth. What you’re mistaking worth for is your willingness to pay it or not. That is fair. But again, if not... what is your alternative strategy? Not wanting to spend that money is only valid if there is something we are missing out on. So what is that? I don’t see it.

If “his buddy” Vuc is moved then whomever is next line will be his “new scoring buddy”. Buddy ball is actually how most teams play, it’s just not called buddy ball it’s called running the offense through your best scorers.
