best cap website I have found to date.... Pick a team upper left corner and can make trades and see how cap space is affected and what not. Very helpful in terms of FA's who has space and seeing if a trade rumor makes sense $ and cap space wise.

Depends on what they decide to do with Gordon.

If he walks and they waive Mack, they could open up about 15-16M in cap space.

If they keep Gordon, they'll have the full MLE which starts at 8.5M in Year 1.

Yeah but were likely not going to just let him walk. His cap hold will be enough to erase any room we have. The mid-level is a fairly decent sized contract but for us not being a big destination for anyone we are going to have to overpay to use it. Gordon is likely coming back as we can't give up on the few assets we have.

Sadly, people still see Gordon as an asset. If he were, he would have figured out how to win games. You don’t pay a max contract to a guy that’s averaged 26 wins a season. Great dunker...moderately talented everywhere else. This guy we’re about to open our checkbook to “change our fortunes” is Harold Miner.

He's 22 and we're not signing any big name free agents, and he's improved every year in a lot of categories, and it's been shown that those contracts are movable if they're still semi-talented/young players. People were saying Oladipo wouldn't deserve what he was going to get and look at him now. When Curry was making $10 million a year on his steal of a contract (and this is when contracts/max were diff), at first people thought he was getting way too much for being injury prone and not exploding on the scene until his 4th year. The value of these contracts are impossible to gauge until these guys play it out. Paying Gordon the max isn't something I would want to do, but we'll see what teams offer him. We do need to start retaining talent at some point though or else this rebuild is going to take even more years.

Okay, so if Gordon accepts qualifying offer (7m cap hold) and we waive Mack, renounce our FA's and Fran Vasquez. I got us with $9 million in cap room. We can sign a good player and then match Gordon.

It might be better to keep a couple guys we already have. Resign Mario and Speights, match Gordon and use the MLE to add a guy.

This is the big if of us keeping Fournier, Ross, Vucevic past draft night.

If he goes to the Rockets, he won't need a cake walk with Harden, CP3 and Capela. The West Finals would be nuts for a few years though. Pretty much pencil in those two teams every year. Houston, Golden State.

He's got a few options in the West, Houston, Lakers, team up with Kawhi in San Antonio, OKC?

Lakers? Really? I can't see that, he'd be worse off than Cleveland.

I think he ends up in one of three places: Golden State, Houston, or Philly.

Unless he just wants even *bigger* endorsements. Then its LA or even NY. I would love to see him go to the Knicks and deal with NYC media.

Umm yes really. It's not the first time that the Lakers have been mentioned. They are going to try and add PG13 and Lebron. Why do you think the shed all that salary last summer? Russell and Mozgov to Nets. They did that to prepare for this summer.

LeBron and PG13 with that cast of characters that LA has would be no better than he had in Cleveland.

That doesn't make them not an option. Did I say he was going there? No. I just listed them as an option, which they are whether you like it or not.

Houston GM Morey has 7 ways of landing LeBron. As long as LeBron wants to be in Houston, it can be done
How do you feel about new Houston Rockets? 66win team (Harden + CP3) and LeBron?

Well, you mentioned them, so you at least suggested it.

Whether I like it or not? Wow, pretty defensive there, eh? I didn't say I like it or don't like it, I just think it doesn't make sense, unless he's more concerned with cash and endorsements than winning.

Its a nice thought but I dont think it will happen. CP3 not willing to take less than a max and Harden with the supermax, the entire rosters salary would be spent on Lebron, CP3 and Harden. None are going to take a paycut so its not realistic.

I think lebron will go to the Spurs. Him and Pop have been a bromance for years. Resign Kwahi and Add Bron, and I think Spurs become the favorite to dethrone the warriors.

If Im Paul Goerge, Im going to Utah. Mitchell is a future superstar, Gobert is top 3 C and adding a scoring wing in PG13 would replace what they lost with Hayward. That team would be nasty.

If James goes West, the East is fully wide open. I guess the Sixers and Celts are co-favorites.

Sadly, there were shortsighted people that said we had a better future than these two teams. LOL

You add Lebron and PG to the Lakers and that’s a damn good team that has virtually everything. The Lakers actually took a big positive step this last season. Their young talent is good. Ball, Randle, Kuzma and Ingram along with PG and Lebron is a team that could give any contender a reason to worry..

Houston can't get Lebron while keeping CP3 and Harden.

Eric Gordon makes $14 millon next year
Ryan Anderson makes $20 million next year

Both players are basically shooters, neither are all stars. Both of them make way too much money for basically being a shooter/ role player. Cavaliers would have 0 interest in Gordon and Anderson. If you remove CP3, Harden, Gordon and Anderson from trade discussions, You won't come anywhere close to matching salaries on Houston compared to Lebron to make the trade work. I'm sure Rockets would love to trade Gordon and Anderson but there's 0 chance the Cavaliers have interest in either player.

Rockets don't have cap space to sign Lebron, They can only get him in a trade.
