That's funny, because that happened at the O-Rena.

You’re not really haggling with him over what the corporate name of the arena was at that time are you?

WTF go away. Two different arenas. DeVos didn't buy the team until 9 months after Skiles set that record. So yeah no mention of Amway back then. What other stupid things would you like to say?

December 30 1990 Skiles set the record vs the Nuggets at the O-Rena.

September 19 1991 DeVos buys the Magic for $85 million.

Orlando Magic games are too expensive? Basic tickets are what these days? $20-30?

Come to Dallas and check out Cowboys ticket prices...

Buddy...

The "O-Rena" and the Amway Arena are the same building.

Amway was nothing more than a corporate sponsor of the building. No different than when the building was called the TD Waterhouse Centre.

Scott Skiles 30 assist game happened at the Orlando Arena/TD Waterhouse Centre/Amway Arena. The Magic played in that building from October 1989 until May 2010. It just changed corporate sponsors a couple of times.

The Amway CENTER is the new building and it opened in September of 2010.

They are not the same building. Two different locations. The O-Rena was up off of Livingston Ave. O-Rena was also called TD Waterhouse Centre

Either you're trolling me hard or you are completely off with your facts here. I'll break it down by date in case you're not trolling and are just wrong.

1. The Orlando Arena (nicknamed the O-Rena) broke ground in January of 1987 and officially opened in January of 1989. It was located between Amelia Street and Livingston Street next to Lake Dot.

2. The Magic began playing in the Orlando Arena (nicknamed the O-Rena) in October of 1989. This was the team's inaugural season.

3. Scott Skiles had his 30 assist game at the Orlando Arena (nicknamed the O-Rena) in December of 1990.

4. Amway co-founder Rich DeVos purchased the Magic in September of 1991.

5. The building was RENAMED (same building, just renamed) the TD Waterhouse Centre (still nicknamed the O-Rena) before the 1999-2000 season.

6. The building was then RENAMED again (same building, just renamed for the second time) the Amway Arena (still nicknamed the O-Rena) before the 2006-2007 season.

7. The Magic played their final game in the Amway Arena in May of 2010.

8. The Magic then MOVED into a new building called the Amway Center in October of 2010. This location is on Church Street and is where the Magic currently play to this day.

9. The Orlando Arena/TD Waterhouse Centre/Amway Arena (nicknamed the O-Rena) was then demolished in March of 2012.

I didn't realize the last 3 years it was Amway Arena, I thought it was still TD Waterhouse until the end. My bad.

All good brother.

I know we get after each other a little bit, but that one can definitely be confusing. They left Amway Arena to go to Amway Center. It was a bit of a goofy process.

Most people actually expected the old arena to be named Amway when they opened up the naming rights the first time in 98-99, but TD Waterhouse made a much bigger offer than people expected.

TD Waterhouse paid 1.56M a year for the naming rights. Once they left, Amway only paid 375K a year for the naming rights with the caveat that they'd get right of first refusal on the naming rights on the new building being built.

Amway currently pays 4M a year for the naming rights to the current building.

lol I didn’t word that very great. I meant that’s the biggest game I’ve ever been to (eastern conference finals game 4) wish I’d gone to more or a finals game but any seat in the arena was crazy expensive.

I was in the building as well, sitting up high but there nonetheless. That game, and in that moment doesn't really get much better for a sports fan. I remember the whole arena stood the last hour of game time. I was literally stressed out with anxiety but it was awesome! Walking out of the arena after that game was so hyped, felt like fans were going to start flipping cars and climbing traffic poles, everyone knew we were going to the finals going up 3-1. Best magic moment for me and best sports/live action moment for me period! Will never forget it!

I was a representative of my corporation and was to go to Center court to receive a check from the Magic to our business at halftime When halftime came, They told me to sit on the visiting teams bench/chairs to wait for the PA announcer to call me to mid court. A few minutes later , the Detroit Pistons came out of the locker room and started warming up. Lambeer, Isaiah Thomas were shooting jump shots right in front of me. Then Joe Dumars sat in the chair next to me and said hi and started lacing his sneakers. Coolest time ever.

In Middle School I went to one of the Magic basketball camps. Won most improved player. Bo Outlaw and Darrell Armstrong came through, DA was by far my favorite player then and still is today. We were playing a game of knockout and they jumped in. I was in the final 5 I think but one of the youngest/smallest kids knocked Armstrong out, it was hilarious.

Valet'd Jameer and Jason Williams' cars (Jameer had a truck, Williams had a Jag I believe) in college.

I have this very hazy memory of watching the first Magic game, but it may be my mind playing tricks on me because I had just turned 3 years old, lol.

Favorite players: Armstrong, Penny, McGrady, Dwight
