First of all I called the Biyombo signing a massive mistake the day it happened, but I also said That it might work because on paper it made sense and decided to give it a chance.....Biz didn’t disappoint, he was straight trash. He was absolutely useless and a waste of time and money and an inferior player to Nik. I think Mo is and will be a better player than Biz.MagicStarwipe wrote:Blue_and_Whte wrote:Wow....Our bench was ass last night. How many times did little ish smith score on Mo at the basket? Like 3? I don't care how young he is that shouldn't be happening. Our bench played with no energy or heart.

Ok, I have to comment here. You are completely right by the way. However... I've noticed a trend with you not giving Bamba the benefit of the doubt and throwing little digs at him. I have a feeling it's because people are calling for him to replace Vuc already, so you're developing a bit of resentment for Bamba. Similar to what happened with your Biyombo hatred. Mo did play crap and he should not be letting little guys score on him in there with no contest. No doubt. But let's not pretend the very same thing hasn't happened many times before with Vuc. And you've never called him out for it when it has happened. So what gives?
Yes I give Vuc, Fournier, Ag (more recently), and JI a pass because they actually do things that contribute towards winning despite their limitations. DJ is on the cusp of that group lately. In regards to Nik, he’s one of our best shooters scorers passers and while he’s physically limited defensively he’s also fundamentally sound defensively. Even if he gets scored on he’s where he’s supposed to be. I don’t expect him to defy physics. I know his limits and I except that because of all the other things he does well.
I haven’t taken digs at Mo.... ive straight up said that he lacks defensive instincts and last night was an example of that. This isn’t some advanced defensive tactic here, We’re simply talking about using his god given tools and putting his hands straight up in the air.
I mean goddamn this is basic stuff and at some point we have to understand that it’s just basketball, not reinventing the wheel. If he’s not blocking shots, hitting threes, posting up up or at least being the deterrent I know he can be then he’s useless out there. So I mean yeah he deserves criticism for not doing basic stuff that I think is translatable from college to the NBA.
But most of that steams from the fact that I think he can be much better and more effective if he would just use his length to his advantage. To me on those drives by ish it looked like he was winding up for a huge swat instead of just playing sound fundamental defense and that’s infuriating to me. Stand straight up and put your MFing arms in the air. His arms are longer than Ish Smith’s body why are they at his side!?
Anyway I think he can be a better deterrent, he has sound shooting mechanics and imo a lot of time me we miss him on rolls tbh. I think we lack a pg that can hit him with a proper lob when he rolls.
There’s obviously a learning curve and i understand that there’s a lot he’ll improve on but that doesn’t mean we should be void of expectations especially something as basic as sticking your arms up which could’ve prevented some easy layups.
My criticality of him has nothing to do with not moving on from Vuc as I’ve stated before that we need to move on and commit to mo. I just get tired of people blaming Nik just because it’s easier when in actuality it’s been the inability to find (or keep) elite players and mismanagement of the team.
EDIT: And another thing whatever happened to:
