Here are the Magic's five best two-man pairings for this season (minimum 100 minutes together)

Augustin/Ross: +13.7
Gordon/Isaac: +10.3
Vucevic/Ross: +10.1
Vucevic/Isaac: +9.9
Vucevic/Gordon: +8.6

In my eyes, the Isaac/Gordon pairing to continue to trend upward would be one of most encouraging signs possible for the Magic this season.

My view has been that if they can both 1) hit the three and 2) defend either forward position, then they are a good fit, and any lack of playmaking should be addressed by improving the guard positions.

If they can't hit the three ball, then AG isn't a starter at any position, and Isaac is a center, in which case their ability to play together would be the least of our problems.

Are you both watching the IND game?

They were probably talking about Vucevic on mobile. Iphones usually autocorrect Vuc to Vic.

I definitely meant Vuc. Autocorrect got me...

Imagine those ratings if Fournier wasn't playing like crap.

And I know Bamba is a rook and project, but man are his ratings with those same players disappointing. Thought he would be better off the bench in limited minutes, but he is basically last year's biyombo out there right now.

Isaac/Bamba -23.8
Ross/Bamba -17.1
Gordon/Bamba -13.0

Grant is awful and should not be in the NBA. It really just boils me that Weltman/Hammond did such a piss poor job at building this PG rotation this year. As well as DJ has played for a starter, he is a bench PG. There needs to be some kind of trade prior to the deadline to improve our PG rotation and get Simmons off this team. There has to be.

I really don't mind keeping Simmons, as he's been much better as a starter, but I agree about the PG situation. I hated getting Grant back then, I still hate it now. People were telling me he was better than Mack.

I laughed at that too. There is a reason we got him for free...

Mack was not that great but he looked like an NBA player.

If we win tonight playing the best team in the west on a back to back - YES. I don't have my hopes up for tonight's game. I pray that I am wrong though

I think the Nuggets are one of the worst matchups for us in the league and playing a back to back at home after a 6 game road trip is really tough in addition. So -- I'm hopeful we can come out and compete -- but if we get our doors blown off I'll still be disappointed but won't take it as meaning too much.

Contender... Starting lineup.... Augustin/Ross/Gordon/Isaac/Vuc... GOT IT!!

But for real though... that lineup looked really good on both ends of the court last night!

Funny, I was going to post that we match up pretty good against them..

When we played them in DEN a few weeks ago, it was their bench that killed us.

Lyles hung 22 on us, and Mason F-ing Plumlee scored 15!
Their bench scored 57 points, more than half the score.

Clifford also knows it. Fournier started, but Ross was in to close the game.

Yeah going to have to really play a solid game and really cut down on the mistakes. But if they can do that it's doable.

I believe Grant would be a fantastic 3rd string PG. Augustin would be a fantastic major-minutes backup PG. The Magic must find an actual starting capable PG to enter the next season.

Look at the last ten-games. Augustin has been "not horrible." That is not a path to a 50-win season.

Great game. I think we really make the playoffs this year.
