Magic would have to sign Ross using whatever cap space they had left if they renounced him.

But that may make the most sense depending on timing since Ross’ cap hold is over 15M.

If the Magic think they can bring him back for a good bit less than 15M, but want to chase a RFA first, it could make sense to renounce Ross.

It's obvious we're not tanking, and as much as I wanted to tank, it hasn't really worked out for us. So, win. I'm good winning and seeing improvement. And of we make the PO even as 1st round fodder, hell I'll take that every day.

Yeah, this particular poll is really skewed toward choosing tanking. If we make the playoffs I doubt we get swept.

We wasted the last years of the worst team getting 25% odds for the 1st pick and worst case landing at 4 era. All those pointless end of season wins that you and the rest of the short-sighted anti-tankers were cheering for did nothing but hurt our team. Our front office's failure to commit to a full measured tank cost us guys like Porzingis and Doncic who could of been the franchise saviors we had been looking for since Dwight left. Instead of controlling our destiny when we should of been tanking PROPERLY, we are now in position to loiter in mediocrity until Hammond trips over his next Giannis through sheer dumb luck.

You got your wish. Hope all those useless late season wins that you can't even remember were worth it.

This is pretty much it. We missed our shot. Tanking is not really a option anymore.

I’ll always take a higher draft pick than a first round exit swept or not. It’s not going to happen, but this roster has obvious deficiencies that haven’t been addressed in years. Might as well see how far they go and suffer the consequences next season.

Call me crazy, but I can see us still remaining competitive while trading Vuc and Fournier. Depending on what we get back (a decent PG would help). Especially if we start Birch (only for Bamba's rookie season). Maybe not playoffs or as good as we are now, but definitely a watchable team. But I realize this front office is not moving Vuc.

Sweeps are usually decent omens for this franchise when it comes to youngish up-and-coming rosters (see '93-'94 and '06-'07 Magic teams).

We went 12 years without winning a playoff series until '08. We're not quite there currently, but I think this franchise's fans deserve some happiness for a change. That's not going to be accomplished with more losing.

Tanking in theory, if done right, is nice. But a team that has been out of the playoffs and tanking longer than us who has been unable to develop any of their last 3 top 4 draft picks (Ayon is TBD but its not looking great right now) just had their second straight 9 point 1st quarter. When you live in the lottery like we have done these last 6 years, you create a culture that makes it extremely hard to develop talent in. Even though I was skeptical of the hire, I'm glad that Clifford has come here and started to rebuild the culture.

Ill take a 1st round playoff loss at this point over another 6th or 7th pick. I want a winning culture again. Ill take our chances with attracting a big free agent in the next 2-3 years as our young core develops.

Why is there a preconceived notion that we'll be swept?

And we've been fortunate to get players like AG, JI, and Bamba. Time to move out of the lottery.

&& it’s 3 years if you are lucky. That requires you hitting on a superstar talent. Sacramento has been playing the lottery game for 12 years now. We are already halfway to that point, and at the rate we were going there’s nothing to suggest we weren’t heading down the same route.

I am just going to throw this out there and a lot of people are not going to like what I say but the Orlando Magic will NEVER win an NBA Championship, ever. No matter if we tank for the next 10 seasons. I am sick of tanking. Let's just try to compete. That Nugget game last night was incredible even though we lost.

Not to mention, no superstar will ever want to play in Orlando. Period.

Can't say never, but the championship or bust mentality by some fans who have only seen 1 finals game win in 30 years is strange.

I honestly think we are 1 good point guard away from being a nightly threat to any team. THIS current team alone is still growing... and has already won games or given great teams a run for their money. And this is with Fournier playing at a subpar level. If Augustin played like mighty mouse on a nightly basis... we would be a totally different team and possibly on the upper half of the east.

Let that sink in.

NOW.... plug in a player that produces that necessary gravity at the PG position on consistent basis... this team would take a huggggge step forward. Mind you... we're only 25 games into a new mindset and coach... once again... still growing (psssshhh... haven't even come close to seeing the best of Isaac and Bamba... and dear i say it...AG). And to me... that mentality is something we DO NOT want to screw with at all.

Plus.... these games are exciting to watch!!!

Option three... Keep getting better and let the fruit of their efforts show

I know right!!! I was thinking the same. You will never be happy if a 1/30 chance (not taking into account the favor for big market and stacked teams) is not worth hanging your happiness on. I would be happy as hell with a team that competes every night, gives me all they got, has talent and is pretty much in a position to win against every team on any given night. And if by chance we win a championship or the east etc. ... "I will j*** in my pants"

This is interesting.

It come to the Idea that B.I.G. will be ready come playoff time. It also considers that Ross might be better than Fournier (I do not agree as Ross is putting up numbers against second squads and Fournier is on awful defensive duties most nights).

But what if the Magic trade Vučević and Fournier AND make the playoffs? This is not crazy and is worth conversation.
Frankly it sets both a winning attitude and a core basis of future assets to extend beyond this year. I do not like the idea, but certainly it cannot be written off.
