Whole board knew that Oladipo trade was mistake, some of people just felt need to defend every dumb move team has ever done. But yea, 23 years old in trade for 27 y.o ( at least ) Ibaka ,who was pending UFA was always going to backfire. Especially when you give up lottery pick as well ( who turned into better player than Ibaka anyway )
I think this board still heavily viewed Dipo as not a future all star before he left, I guess it's natural to see players who they are at the time.

Just like Bamba that's only had 3 or 4 lobs to him all season and averages 14 pts 11 rebs 3 blks per 36 mpg. He's doing a pretty decent job in his first 34 games and most here argue he's not good.

Dipo had 11 - 20+ ppg games in rookie year.

Among them he had 30 points,14 assists,9 rebounds game against Knicks in rookei year.
He also had triple double in rookie year ( 26-10-10) .

He,according to him, needed to play along side star such a Westbrook is to take his game to next level. Would it ever happen if he stayed with Magic ? I guess not? Not like we can know. :dontknow:

If we had no other centers on the team, no Fournier, no Ross, Bamba would be averaging a double double.

Dipo averaged 16 pts per 36 mpg his rookie year and Bamba averages 14. I still stand by my prediction that Bamba will be a 20 point scorer in his career.

Still, imo , Oladipo was way more nba ready than any prospect Magic drafted after him, Bamba included.

We are a bipolar board.

"Realistic" and "win a championship" in the same sentence.... only a PR man like Alex Martins can say such a thing with a straight face.

I will take that bet. Vucevic is a gifted scorer and this is his first season averaging over 20ppm. No chance Bamba reaches those heights. (pun intended)

even if he did we’d have 5 wins. He’s just another role player. Wouldn’t even be a 5th option on a slightly above average team. It reminds of when literally every coach Payton had needed to remind him to play with energy.

Sounds like Vucevic first year when Collins had to constantly remind him it was the NBA not WNBA.

That actually didn’t happen. There is a video where Doug talks to vuc about being more physically and that he has a bright future ahead of him.

On several occasions throughout this season, Orlando Magic coach Scott Skiles and point guard Elfrid Payton have sat down for mostly one-sided conversations

I know you’re butt hurt that vuc is playing so well and that Bamba looks like a 40 year old Channing Frye so I understand.

That was after almost a full season when he had to keep reminding him to play tough and his numbers weren't good.

But he was 23, was struggling to finish at the rim, turnover prone, and his 3pt efficiency wasn’t great. Isn’t it your M.O. that he was already a finished player by that age and we should have known he’d never amount to more?

Pisses me off that Cha gets their doors blown off by mediocre teams and we make them look like Warriors + prime Jordan every time.

Sometimes I don’t know if you’re a troll or just having a daily stroke....

Yes, as I stated when I posted the video, Doug Collins said that he wanted Vuc, who was in his rookie year, to play more physical which is an extremely common cliche thing coaches tell young players. what he didn’t say was “I had to remind Vucevic daily that this is the NBA not the WNBA.”

Yes it was common knowledge that Collins wasn't happy with his physicality.
