Seemed to be the overwhelming sentiment at the time. Should I start a poll?

Well, on RealGM, we get diehards who are probably more negative about their teams than most fans. Outside RealGM, it seems most fans are different in their attachments to players. But, Polls are always fun!

Should the opinion of casuals even count? Our casual fanbase would have built around Jason Smith if they were in charge.

Kind of related: I explained to my grandma why 3s are better than long 2s. I explained how 4-10 on 3s was 12 points while 5-10 on 2s was 10 points. So I asked which was better, 4-10 for 12 or 5-10 for 10? She thought for a moment and then said "5-10, because you make more shots." She's 89 and she's crazy, but casuals actually aren't far from that when it comes to how they understand basketball.

Those Casuals probably include the majority of the 10k who go to games and most of central Florida who may spend money on Magic merch etc. Just because a few diehards want the team the tank for years on end praying to get lucky and win a superstar in the draft, ownership isn't going to cave.

It's true that casuals make up the majority of the paying customers, but it's also true that there will be even MORE casuals if you're a really good team. Put a contender out there and suddenly we're back to selling out games every night. Casuals want a good team but they don't know how to make one. So their opinion shouldn't count. They might get mad that you traded their beloved fan favorite, but it won't stop them from coming to playoff games 2 years later.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
