Waiving a two-way player does not free up a roster slot. Thus waiving either Jefferson or Caupain has no benefit to Carter-Williams.

He was not on a roster during the eligibility period. Thus, so long as the Magic resign him, he is. To do that, it looks as if the Magic must waive a player. That would probably be Martin or Frazier.

Does the injury waiver they got to sign MCW in the first place not apply to the playoffs?

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression they could sign him to a full contract if they were so inclined.

Martin is the backup PF if anything happens to Gordon/Isaac. He shouldn’t go.

Frazier is a kid they liked enough to draft at the top of the 2nd round AND give him a 4 year contract. He’s not going anywhere as far as I’m concerned.

If they do have to waive someone, they might as well just waive Grant since it’s beyond clear that Clifford doesn’t trust him. Caupain can be the emergency PG.

Briscoe could maybe be ready for the playoffs too. Tomorrow will mark 2 weeks since his surgery and most knee scopes are 3-6 week deals. If he’s on the early side of things, he might be available in the final week of the season or a potential first round playoff series.

So yeah... if they have to waive someone, I’d just waive Grant.

Great performance, MCW is proving me wrong and I am really happy about it. If he keeps playing smart like this and don't get back to chucking bad shots he'd be a very nice addition. Evan was great in the second half, and our D was really solid in that period.

Clifford has done wonders with this team, he's such a good coach.

The league office will need to extend the waiver a third time for Carter-Williams to be signed for the season's conclusion (thus instantly making him playoff eligible). If that was going to happen, one would have imagined it already would have. The league, I guess, thinks that Fultz could be un-injured now. Whether he is in game shape is irrelevant in that context.


The idea that Caupain is better than Grant is an interesting argument to waive Grant, regardless of Carter-William's contract situation.

There were three players part of the pull-away in the late 3rd / early 4th: Birch, Carter-Williams, and Ross.

Great to see quality bench play to create space for the starters!


p.s. Birch and Carter-Williams both outscored Ross, which is outstanding. Ross led the team in +/-, which really shows his value even in a lower scoring night.

Just realised that Orlando only had 7 TOs, which was 8-better than the Sixers (at 15 TOs).

That stat certainly had Coach Clifford sleeping well last night (except that he was probably looking at Miami game tape instead).

Oh no, now they're going to have TJ McConnell out there who always kills us, and more importantly, attempts shots outside of 3 feet.

We win this game tonight if 1. Tobias doesn't want yet another revenge game. 2. JJ Redick doesn't go God mode like he always does against us. 3. The refs don't clearly favor them because of the star power on their side. But all 3 won't happen. So, loss.

I fully expect at least 25 for Harris and Redick, I also expect Embiid will get at least 12 ft's and that we'll be the team in the deficit in terms of free throws.

Just finished watching it, I was right about the points I made but wrong in terms of the end result. Lol
