Derrick Rose and Andrew Wiggins?

Post#1 » by MasterGMer » Sun Jun 30, 2019 2:57 pm

Ross is going to be a FA and he had vote on the best sixth man of the year. I know his past injury but dude worked really hard to get to where he is today. Do we offer him our MLE and sign him to be our sixth man?

Minnesota is trying to trade Andrew Wiggins really hard so that they can sign DLo. I know his contract is ridiculous but should we try to trade for him?

Could be a decent pick up. I like him more than Evan. And he may flourish in some warmer surroundings with a player's coach. He has definite talent. I just feel like he's wasting away in Minnesota.

And I watched a bunch of Wolves games last year. D-Rose can still contribute a lot! It was so good seeing him come back to form last year. He'll never be MVP Rose again, but he was great. I wouldn't mind him either.

Rose - Fultz
Wiggins - Fournier
Isaac - Okeke
Gordon - Birch
Vucevic - Bamba

That's a great rotation and at least a 50 win team.

If Rose accepts MLE, I'd happily sign him.

As for the other deal, no, thanks.

Rose is trying to not-be the first MVP rejected from the Hall of Fame. His year last year was promising. If the Magic offer something like the Detroit deal, then sure. He would get numbers in Orlando and Orlando would both sell tickets and "be better" with him.

Augustin would need to be traded. But that is not hard. He is expiring and his 7M is not that off putting to a team looking for a back-up PG. Let's make it simple an consider a SnT with Minnesota for Augustin. If the Magic then sign Kaminsky and resign Carter-Williams and Ross, here is the roster.

Rose/Fultz/Carter-Williams
Fournier/Ross/Frazier
Isaac/Iwundu/Okeke
Gordon/Kaminsky
Vučević/Bamba/Mozgov

Frankly that's a dark-horse Eastern Champion for me. It is balanced and deep. Similar to me as Indiana before Oladipo went down.

Wiggins eFG% is awful. I want nothing to do with him.

Absolutely, I proposed this trade last year and many didn't like it. I didn't think Rose was done then before he got back on track this year., figured he'd come back. I believe the same can be said for Wiggins. His potential is still untapped, I'd love to take the chance on him. Overpaid players is one of the few tools in the box for us right now.

I can't take posters who wanted Andrew Wiggins seriously.

Somehow we’re the ones giving up a first rounder for Wiggins? If Wiggins is traded, especially for an expiring contract, it’ll be Minnesota sending a first.

Rose is rumored to be signing with Detroit.

Wiggins is a hard, hard pass for me. The only way I'd even bat an eye is if Minnesota attached several valuable assets to him, which I don't think they're looking to do.

I agree on Wiggins, I looked at the assets Minnesota has and I don't think the assets they'd realistically be willing to attach to Wiggins is enough to get me to even consider taking him on for a second, he's awful and that contract has to be one of the worst in the league.

Wait.... so there's a page that is blowing up about Vuc's contract.... and then there is another page advocating for the acquisition of wiggin's contract. :-/

Yeah.... i'll rather have fournier's contract any day over Wiggin's. But picking up rose would be something i'm totally down with. Thought bout that since like mid season.
