i assume this does not count ones who are traded on draft night

is that days? if so, it is incorrect. Anthony Bennet was drafted #1 and spent only one season in Cleveland before being traded to Minnesota. thats 422 days from draft to trade.

I think it is referring to the picks collectively, not individually. I don't really see the relevance though. Getting traded for Anthony Davis isn't really damning for a player.
