Jefferson is a good traditional big... we have plenty of bigs though, so he's just going to be a body until there's a trade. I'm guessing the second year is not guaranteed?

The team had to hit 14 regular roster players. They had 2 weeks once the season started. This got the Magic to 14.

Amile Jefferson definitely deserved a standard contract and am happy for him.

You do have to wonder if this could have been better used on a swingman but with Mo Bamba not playing in back-to-backs, it's good to have another big on the roster.

This does open up a Two-Way slot. It's too bad The Magic did not make this move earlier so they could have converted DeQuan Jeffries to a Two-Way Deal before Sacramento claimed him on waivers.

Jefferson likely signed a non-guaranteed deal, giving the Magic the flexibility to cut him and sign someone else if they choose or cut him to acquire someone in a trade.
