Isaac was a monster last night. What changed everything was Cliff going to Isaac on that first play of the second half. The ball started moving, space was created and offense came within the flow of the game. Defense became better as shots started going in and viola - a beautiful second half win.

If Isaac can be consistent with his shooting and AG doesn't force things, that tandem is a monster to deal with.

When I saw this game, all that was running through my mind was how JI was very KG-esque

It felt like I was watching a 2009 KG out there

I can't think ever think of a young player who has played defense like Isaac. When he starts to get more plays on offense like at the beginning of the third quarter, woah.

Dwight is/was good. ANY C gets scared to face him in the paint. However, I will be the first to admit that I will probably poop gold before I see Dwight chasing guys from the 3pt line and recover back to protect the paint even in his prime years.

Out of all the games he played here, I’m sure we can find something but I also know that it wasn’t necessarily needed. It was Orlando who started the 3 point mess, 2013-2014 Spurs who got a championship out of it and the Warriors who perfected it. Teams weren’t bombing 50 3s a game (looking at Houston) so, by necessity as that has gotten popular, the defensive scheme needed to changed but I clearly remembered guards scared to drive because of Dwight’s ability to protect the paint. Dwight was crazy good.

His defense was the sign of the times but man did he control the game. Isaac’s defense is the sign of this time and he’s getting there as well. It’s going to be great seeing what he can do as he continues to grow as a player.

Dwight's rebounding instincts were off the charts and his physicality is special, but in terms of instincts and team defense I'd say Isaac is ahead of where Dwight was at the same age.
