Banned for profanity.

Seriously though. If the Magic make the playoffs with four forwards out of action, power to this TEAM.

Well. I truly think we're just in a slump right now and while its disheartening anyone thats watched this team play knows we're notoriously slow starters. We'll see how it goes but Vuc will get back to form, he's too good not to, its just a matter of if he'll get help from anyone else outside of Fournier.

More disappointed for Jonathan Issac himself, was having a stand out year. I still think in 2 years he’s the face of the franchise, hope he gets healthy soon, but there’s no sense rushing him back to maybe get blasted by the Bucks in round 1. I think we can do that with this bare bones squad.

that rarely happens in the NBA. the face of the franchise is an offensive player. You have Gobert in Utah, but the face is Donavan Mitchell. You have Smart in Boston, face is Tatum/Kemba. GS - Draymond vs Curry. On many teams, the best defensive player is one of the better offensive player too. to me, Isaac falls in more like Gobert-Utah. Unless his offensive hits another gear, he wont be "the face"

Depends how good the best offensive player is. To me Ben Wallace was the face of those great Pistons teams over Billups.

i agree with Wallace. but like i said, it rarely happens

Agreed, you basically need to have a DPOY winner, who isn't any good in terms of scoring. Another name is Dikembe and the Hawks.

living in Atlanta, i would argue that Steve Smith and Mookie were more the faces. Dikembe just got on highlights for his finger wagging

Let him take his time to heal. He's the future. I'm in no rush.

It'll make watching the Magic really rough for the next 2 months. He was one of the lone bright spots this season.

I think it would be extremely short-sighted of a front office to base trade decisions around this injury. The front office shouldn't let this injury impact any major roster moves solely to make a half-assed run at the playoffs. The Magic should be thinking long term.

I wonder if its even worth trying for a playoff push?

Judging by Weltman's comments today, it still seems like it's a priority. Them considering using the 15th roster spot to fill a need at forward makes me believe they're trying to mitigate the loss.

He's just saying that 8-10 weeks doesn't mean he will be back in 8-10 weeks, it's pure speculation. We won't know if he's done for the season until then.

True. But let’s say it’s 2-3 weeks left of the season and we are out of the playoff hunt do you think Magic will want to get him on the court? I could see him returning if he is healthy and we are trying to make a strong push for that first round sweep by Milwaukee.

It's highly unlikely, but what if the team plays better without Isaac? Will the conversation be the same as with Vuc?

No. Because I think most people including ones outside our fanbase realize Isaac is a central piece to our rebuild regardless of how this team plays rest of the season.

I agree that usually “defensive guys” wouldn’t be considered the face of a franchise. Remember though, Issac was averaging 13 ppg essentially. His trajectory and responsibilities offensively are sure to grow. I still think he’ll be “the face” here in a couple years, but nothing is assured. The organization may switch gears again and go an entirely different route depending on Weltman and Hammond response to all this.

This team has no choice but to navigate through the storm now. It's going to be hard. It's not like we're playing as efficient as we should. This team still needs to make a move towards improving the offense in a huge way. This team can't march into playoff contention if the offense continues to struggle like it has been most of the season. Otherwise, what's the point?

I dont think any major change except trading AG is worth it. It doesnt look like Fultz will start to shoot better this season. Our forward rotation is in shambles. Bamba is still not ready yet he is given developmental minutes ( which is a good idea, and starts to work out). It seems like Weltman has a very good relation with Clifford becouse our coach is visibly taking it easy this year. He is focused on development and it was working out with Bamba, Fultz and Isaac. I like our options in the draft. Lets win what we can this year but i doubt we will expend any assets. Signing Fournier to a good deal should be priority if he opts out.

No. Because that only applies to certain players to perpetuate a false narrative. I mean using some of the logic around here it should apply but the name on the jersey is different. The other dumb logic is "If we're winning same games without out him as we are with him then....." Losing any of our best players doesn't make us better in any capacity.
Every single year a teams best player goes down, they win some games, and some dumb arm chair analyst asks: "Are they better without player x." No. Other players are just stepping up.

I'm only looking for Fultz to continue his development to make up for lost time. Definitely not in a hurry on his part. I'm good with Bamba's development as well. We all knew going in he was going to be a long term project. Hopefully in the end, all the patience and hard work will pay off. That said, it'snot like we're world beaters with this roster. Given how messy the bottom half of the Eastern Conference is right now, it wouldn't matter if the Magic make the playoffs or not.

I still think a move around AG is needed regardless if it's at the deadline or in the off-season. The offense can stand for some improvements.
