By far the worst tragedy of a sports hero. The way him and his precious little girl loved each other made it tough. You could see it in every photo of them.

Tragic. Kobe will always be remembered as one of the best. Losing little Gianna too makes it much harder. May they rest in peace along with other victims of this horrible accident.

Yeah I saw it as well. It was very tough to watch. Those two go back a long ways from their AAU days to the Magic vs. Lakers games when T-Mac was still playing for the Magic. Those matches were cool to watch.

Here's a light hearted interview between both T-Mac and Kobe for those who haven't seen it.

As a Kid who grew up with the McGrady/Bryant/Iverson/Carter era I was absolutely devastated to hear this news. I literally saw this pass through my live feed for Instagram news and I immediately broke down in tears and was inconsolable for the rest of the day. My family is a huge basketball family who followed it religiously since the mid-80s since Magic/Bird/Jordan to the current generation where we'd debate about whose better than who and actually participate in amateur basketball whether it be a rec league or high school. There was never a time in my life where basketball wasn't a high priority even as I hit my late 20s with my life/career in full swing I still follow basketball just as religiously.

To see someone who was in your home for years and years for 2-4 nights of the week for x amount of years grow up in front of you, have a family, simultaneously follow his life after basketball die with his Daughter who following in his footsteps is is absolutely crushing to think about. I'm trying to not to cry just typing this down.

Though obviously none of us really knew Kobe personally the bond of basketball and love of basketball for all of us connected us in a way which nobody outside of the game could really understand. Its not just a game it was a way of life.

BTW rest in peace to the rest of those who died in the crash. Families were ripped from this devastating loss... Its just really tough right now.

Honestly was never a huge Kobe fan, he just wasn't my type of player along with my general dislike of the Lakers. But I respected the hell out of him, a genuine modern day legend of the game. I remember watching his final game on the TV and jumping around the lounge when he put up 60, and just being so bought into that moment. Honestly couldn't believe the feels I got yesterday from hearing the news, and then about his wee girl and the other passengers as well, just so damn sad.

The universal respect's paid across the league and teams, and other sports leagues around the world, says everything you need to know about his cultural and sporting impact. RIP Mamba, Gigi and all the others impacted
I still believe in Magic! Welcome to the Franz & Paolo era

I never looked at him the same after the rape stuff.

Still, the “Kobe-Cosby” stuff flooding social media has me beyond pissed off. This is **** ridiculous.

Yesterday I was sad, crying and in shock. This has me furious. Wtf is wrong with people?

Fair or unfair, the Colorado incident is absolutely part of Kobe's legacy. It's a very complicated thing to wrap our heads around.

But there's a time, a place and a tactful way for people to bring it up and the same day he tragically died alongside his daughter is not one of those days.

The #MeToo pitch forkers are merely trying to advertise their agenda. It's become big business for them now. Never mind that Kobe's contributions to the world have been extremely positive and he was never proven to have done anything wrong. Race absolutely has something to do with it too in my opinion.

Shattered and heartbroken for all the families who have lost a loved one here.

To Kobe,
What an inspiration he was and will continue to be to millions around the globe. I was a Laker hater and especially after our finals run against them a decade ago.. Never did I not stop and admire the way you carried yourself on and off the court. a true champion, a great father figure to your family and a role model for many aspiring athletes. One of the greatest athlete in my lifetime and sadly the greatest athlete to pass away in my lifetime :(

May your legacy live on mate. RIP with your little angel.
