The Denver deal is probably the only realistic deal amongst those. Do you consider Will Barton a piece for the future?

Not really. Barton gives the Magic a legitimate wing on offense for 3 years. I think the trade softens the blow of losing Fournier for nothing if they fail to make a move. Orlando lacks guys that can go out and get a bucket, Barton is that guy. He is also a major upgrade to MCW or Ennis offensively.

Nnaji, a late first round pick, is better than Clark and is only 19.

I don’t see a situation where Fournier or AG get us great future prospect. Like you said, Denver is the more realistic trade out of these probably for that reason. Teams that would be interested are likely make or break championship contenders with moveable assets.

Yeah but if your concern is about the future of the team, trading for a 30 year old SF isn't going to do anything to change the future and just looks to compliment the mediocre pieces already here. So how does a deal like that help us in the long run?

If we trade with Denver we would have to come away with at least one of Hampton/Zeke Nnaji

As opposed to what exactly? Resigning Evan, letting him walk, or watching AG be mediocre for another few years?
There aren’t many options available, for the sizable contracts these guys are on, to maximize value for future assets.

Yes, the Denver deal is the more realistic. It’s also the least return in the long run. The FO should have traded AG and Fournier years ago when they had the chance.

If WeHam could swing for LeVert or another buried prospect it would be better. I just fail to see the value either of these players have to get that return on their current contracts. Maybe the market opens up more when Harden is inevitably traded.

In regard to the proposed trade, maybe they can pry Nnaji or Hampton out of the deal to go with Barton. Probably not.
