Geez, when a coach says something outrageous that is amplified by our teams most well known reporter, people are going to comment on it. Get a grip.

Nowitzki was a winner. Missed the playoffs his first two seasons then went 13 straight years without missing the playoffs, with 2 finals appearances and a championship. Missed the playoffs just the one year (with a .500 record) then back in for 3 more trips.

Maybe Dirk from 2016-retirement is more the apt comparison? His team ended up in the lottery a bunch of times and allowed them to draft Luka at that point. That seems like a more balanced comp.

Thanks everyone for telling us who Dirk was...odds are pretty good Spo knew Dirk a little better than you.

Don’t get your undies twisted...it was just an offhanded compliment. It doesn’t warrant a game by game career analysis. Dirk was legendary. Vuc is just good.
