He is gonna garner an MLE level deal and I don’t think it’s worth the wins he might get us these last 2 months of the season. Let alone us hoping to sign someone to add to our players with injury problems. Not wise. Let him go to a contender.

If he gets bought out the competition for teams trying to get him &/or Drummond is going to be steep.

I disagree. For such a young team, his value is in the locker room, along with Harris. Unlike Rob's attempt a few years ago, these good vets are actually pretty good....when healthy. Unless there's a better 3/4 backup that we can snag in the summer, I'd want to re-sign Otto, if price is right. He's a 3&D player with good IQ. He only raises our floor.

Bulls fan here. Several thoughts. First, Otto is not a break the offense type of player. He isn’t gonna gun for a bunch of points. He doesn’t make a ton of mistakes. He’s a system player at this point. His defense is average. He’s not going to get you a any wins if he doesn’t have talent around him. He allows you to evaluate your talent better because he does stay in the offense and makes the right play most of the time. I don’t see him hurting the tank or the development of younger players.

He does probably want to get playing time to show out for his next contract. Because he is a system player, he needs minutes to do that and boost his stats. If he can get 20-25 mpg and NOT give up money on a buy out, he’d prefer that over 10 minutes a night with a contender. I don’t think he is in shape enough to get over 25 mpg

I don’t disagree with having vets on our team to give guidance to our young players. I’m very familiar with Otto watching him on the Wiz regularly. He isn’t the vocal type and I do expect him at this point of his career to want to position himself with contributing to contenders this offseason. I don’t think he’s worth an MLE with his injury history and I’d rather get a more vocal vet with less of an injury history.

Since it’s a contract year for him, he could end up showing out and getting us some unneeded wins.

Just hope he doesn't go all "Jeff Green" on us. ...thinking he's our savior, taking all the shots and stunting young player's PT.

Yup, that's my problem with OPJ and HArris... Thye might cost us the top pick with their "wins"
