As long is the third center/locker room guy in terms of playing time,i am ok with this sign.

But has to be clear:WCJ and Bamba split the minutes since the start of the season and Lopez should get minutes only if one of them is injured(that could probably happens quickly tough,lol)

If you really listened to John Hammond a couple of weeks ago, he more or less gave away the game that Bamba was done in Orlando. This would seemingly be the first step towards that happening.

I'm interested to see what they end up getting in a deal. Again, I think they are looking heavily at next year's deep center draft class. It's lining up for WCJ to be the only potential center on roster, && even he will be hitting restricted free agency.

I personally don't think this means anything. It's a one year deal, and 5 million isn't actually very much. It's probably only that high because, again, it's only one year, because we're not using money on anything else this summer, and because he probably had vet minimum offers from other teams and needed a reason to not go to a better team for the minimum. I could be wrong, but I think you guys are crazy.

Even if they don't trade Mo this summer, he's surely gone by the trade deadline. So now they have two centers for the full season -- WCJ and Lopez. When the right deal comes along for Mo they won't have to scramble to find a center.

My thinking is he was brought in for practices. So Mo and WC Jr have a tough vet to go against that will help them improve their game.

And Lopez knows it. He is a min type of guy and we gave him a bit more for 1 year to challenge our bigs.

I mean Weltman said in an interview, that all the vets will have a true outlook of their playing time and role in the squad, which should obviously be mentoring. There is not a single reason to play Lopez over Bamba/WCJ, so I would assume his role is set as a 3rd stringer garbage time player/injury replacement.

Don't see Bamba out, I truly hope for a Bamba breakout now that Clifford is gone. If he doesn't make it, you can still trade him after the season, but rn it would be kind of stupid.
