The proper frame of mind here should be:

1) Wait until next summer unless a super bargain deal is agreed upon. < $10M per.
2) Split minutes between Carter and Bamba. Big individual stats = Big individual money = Poor Depth (1 stays, 1 goes).
3) Resign both of them next summer. Shared stats = Shared money = Quality Depth (both stay).

I don’t understand the complaining about 4 years and $70 mil. This isn’t 10 years ago. Everything is getting more money, and that’s a pretty reasonable deal based on the current market.

I don’t see the problem. Would rather invest in Bamba, though.

except it isnt. especially for a player that hasnt played 1 healthy season nor shown much growth. he hasnt shown better than Holmes, who just signed 4 yr $55 mil.

just no reason to do this. let both bigs play it out, they own their RFA rights
