Magic Sign Devin Cannady; Waive Jeremiah Tilmon

Devin Cannady is back with The Magic.

We all remember that scary injury last season and how relieved when it was revealed it was not as it looked.

Cannady was on a Two-Way Deal that included a deal for this season as well before he was released.

It's possible he will be on that second Two-Way Deal this season.

The Magic also waived Jeremiah Tilmon who was quietly signed last week. He is likely going to Lakeland.

Cannady has good physical measurements and is a very good shooter. Super bright kid that knows what it takes. I like him to make an NBA roster one day. Guidance from Mosley will be a gift for Cannady.
Perhaps he is being groomed to eventually take the Carter-Williams 3rd-string guard slot.

I am rooting for him!

He’s 25. The talent isn’t there. This is thoroughly inconsequential.

I don’t know why we “groom” players like Cannady while selling off every pick that doesn’t land in the top 20. Hyland was there at 26. That’s a player worth “grooming”. The Knicks snagged Grimes, McBride, and Sims. That’s how you fill out a roster. I’d bet there is a player or two in there that will come good.

I disagree. Having a 3rd string player that is a hard-working practice squad player is critical in developing a youth roster. Cannady's role is to make Suggs work in the training room and practice court. In that: I think Cannady is a wonderful Magic addition.
