Applicable to the NBA or not, that's a great video and a fascinating scheme.

At its essence, there are two offensive strategies in basketball. i) play a two man game, whether pick and roll or a screen, and find space for a shot. Or ii) pass the ball a lot until a mismatch is found that can be exploited. As shooters have gotten better in the NBA, actual passing is not really a thing. Yes there are assists in the NBA as there always were, but most of these now are either in pick and roll situations or in drive and dish situations (off of a screen).

What I like about pace, space and the pass, as a Mosley approach is that it considers that a team can do both. That is, yes have a pick and roll, but rather than having a half-open player take a shot, make that extra pass to get an ever more open look.

Orlando's 3-ball numbers suggest something is working here. We will see if this is sustainable or is statistical noise.

Another night where the Magicv "improve" on the League's second worst TO stat line. There is ZEROOOOOOOO doubt about what this team should be working on skills wise: Protect the ball.
