Orlando can still get to 30+ wins. That is a clear goal !!!!

To add though: New York is predicated to finish at 35 wins. This means there is real hope for th Magic to make the 10-seed on this 22 game winning streak. From there Aaron, shouldn't the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy be the real answer to "what's next"?

With the Win, Orlando is only 14 games back of a play-in slot.

pepe: I really hope the Magic win 50% of their final 21 games and slot as the 4th worst team. Question for you: will this board have a melt-down if that happens?

I love the optimism of going 22-0 to close out. I'm happy to have fultz back to see not just how he and Suggs coexist but to see how he coexists with everyone else. It's a completely different team than the one he last played on.

I'd settle for a lot of "competitive" basketball and a good chunk of close losses followed by a 5 game win streak to finish the season on a good note.

Optimism costs the same as pessimism and it is much better for one's health.

In business and life, I am a realist (a healthy mix of optimism and pessimism), but this is for fun.

If basketball were my business, I would take a completely different track.

Except the quote: If you're a optimist, you're always either right, or disappointed. If you're a pessimist, you're always either right , or pleasantly surprised.

It is only a game. The first Magic game I ever saw was on Oct. 13, 1989. It lead to this quote:
"We beat the World Champs that night and everybody thought we had won the NBA championship that night even though it was just a preseason game," Nick Anderson said.

If basketball were my business, I would take a completely different track.

I don't know. Winning sells tickets. Losing gets a couple more lott balls. I still think ownership wants Ws short term.

....

Before the season started, I expected a 24-win season. I hold out for that. At at this stage: a 10-11 record is required and I would be ecstatic with that sort of focussed conclusion. After all, all I am asking for would still be a losing record over those 21 games. It's gotta be possible. Right???

Let's go Magic. Just WIN!

There's just no tangible benefit to the Magic winning games down the stretch.

It's not about winning games right now though. It's about development. Wins aren't the goal, but if they happen, then I'm not complaining. This is a decidedly different position than I have held previously, but this is because we have some young guys that need to show improvement this time. I'm not interpreting that improvement as a bad thing, even if it means we slide from 5th to 7th in the draft. I don't think there is much of a chance that we finish outside of the top 3 as far as lotto odds go.

I totally get the argument being losing more games means better odds for the draft. However every single win is a benefit to the guys in the locker room and on the court. Stringing together Wins to close out the season could be the product of player development progressing the way we all want and could instill that belief in this roster and lead to even more improvement over the offseason.

But wouldn't that just be a pessimist masquerading as an optimist?

A true optimist would see the bright side of every negative outcome, whether right or wrong.

In basketball, anything can happen.

In my wildest dreams, I could not imagine a non-playing Ben Simmons could be traded for James Harden.

To me, that is equivalent to the Magic winning the final 22 games in a row.

Well you could argue that the pessimist cannot be pleasantly surprised based on that logic. I guess the felling is that somehow, someway it will all still go to pot.

And yes to the 22-wins!
(( And no to either Simmons or Harden i Magic blue ))
