Didn’t see it mentioned but Mosley and Brunson go way back and are pretty tight - https://www.mavs.com/brunson-mosley-history/

Maybe Mosley and the Front Office can recruit Brunson this offseason. I think we have a chance if we are after him

He fits best with the Pistons too as a sidekick to Cade if Dallas doesn’t want to pay him.

If... and I'm not convinced they will spend money... but if the Magic are going to spend money on a guard this summer, I think it would be for Simons.

I think the Blazers are going to chase LaVine and Jerami Grant and try and rebuild on the fly around Lillard.

I wouldn't be surprised if they opted not to match a large offer.

What kind of money can we offer him?

Why would POR let go of a future star for nothing? It just doesn't make sense

Could we do a S&T with POR?

btw what will it take to trade for shai gilgeous-alexander? He is in a bad situation now at OKC. I think OKC will trade him.

What package can we sent to OKC?

Simon isn’t worth a max. And it’s going to take Franz to land SGA. I’m not convinced OKC will trade him.

I like Brunson, but I can’t justify paying that much for him. He’s a good secondary option next to Luka. We need an alpha. That’s not Brunson. He’ll be 26 and he’s just too undersized to be the SG/SF we need.

Who is "alpha", sub 28 years old, free agent and is willing to join awful team but can carry them?
That player simply doesn't exist. That type of player is type of player who would attract stars to his current team and be showered in mega max.

Guys like Simons, Ayton, Brunson aren't max money type of players but also won't leave current team without max money attached to their names.
Magic can realisticlly only do 3 things:

1) draft superstar- well ongoing failure for 11 years now
2) trade for superstar- no balls within front office to even try
3) add B level star in free agency and hope they can built something with him and flip assets to get actual star later

That's why i like Mitchell trade more than most people. He isn't top tear superstar but is very good player and clear allstar. Isn't old. He isn't perfect player ( size ,defense) but is hard worker and wants to win.
Now issue becomes what execlly Utah wants in return. If it's some Suggs, Isaac, 2022 pick , why not? Let's not fool ourselfs thinking that some broken 6th year player who never plays, PG without jumpshot or ballhanlding skills and some Paolo Banchero will actually ever become 26 ppg -allstars.

So in some theory you can end up with potential : Fultz/Sugs- Mitchell- Wagner- Okeke/whoever/ - Ayton roster.

That's probably much better roster than what you will end up if you keep this current roster and have:
Suggs/Fultz ( basically same player on offense ), Cole/Hampton
nobody at SG worth mentioning
Wagner- no backup
broken Isaac, crappy Okeke
Wendell/ resigned Bum-Ba.

This roster once again will go nowhere. There is zero spacing and nobody in right mind ,who doesn't just chase paychecks or is washed out will come to play on 30 wins team. So look for next Jeff Green in free agency.

Well there is a 4th. Pray that F-Wagner or Fultz develops in to a superstar. I know you are not a fan of that coming to fruition, but it is on the list of plausible.

Fultz has as much of superstar potential as Dennis Schroder had. Non.

I will be curious to see what the Mavs do with Brunson. They just got off the KP money. I suspect they had Brunson in their plans, but significantly less

If it's going to take $25 to 30M to sign him, I don't know, I don't think they bite. If they didn't offer him 4/55. Not sure if this post season run makes him that different of a player than he was 4 months ago. Someone is going to over pay. I like Brunson, but he is small. Would the Mavs rather have Brunson and an MLE or 2 more $18M guys that can knock down shots.

I bet Dallas would love a healthy Isaac, not that he is, or that they would take a risk like that after KP. A healthy JI would be perfect next to Luka. I guess he'd be perfect on a lot of teams....IF he could stay healthy

I cant see Dallas letting him go. Nor do I want to see a team with Jalen Brunson being the highest paid player.
Keep Isaac
