i think the Lakers prioritize Dwight over Paul, and would rather keep Bynum up their sleaves for that potential deal.

If we can't land CP3 before the season starts, we need to find a way to rent Steve Nash for 1 year. It would go a long way in showing Dwight and the Magic what a pass-first point guard could do for our team and it would give Nash an opportunity to contend again.

Perhaps we could work out a couple of trades (separate or 3-team) that would involve pieces like:

PHX sends Nash to ORL for Jameer+JJ
GSW sends Monta Ellis to ORL for JRich in sign&trade + whatever filler is necessary

Needless to say... Hornets not making the deal being reported... still talking, no clear cut frontrunner... Gotta love rumor season.

SVG says he wants to resign J-Rich or get a new 2, but JJ could start. Also needs a backup C. SVG has not spoken with Dwight yet. *Not sure if coaches were allowed to talk with players up till now, I don't think they were.

If that's true - and it may be - the Lakers could live to regret it. If they come out of this with neither player, which is entirely possible, turning down Paul because they felt they might get a chance at Howard is really going to sting.

Dammit.

The Hornets have started to inform teams that they're sending Chris Paul to the Lakers for Bynum and Odom, league sources tell Y! Sports.

No need to rush. Otis is letting things fall into place and then he will see what is out there after other teams have wildly spent their money.
