Not really sure how you can get excited about wins over two FCS teams and Wake Forest.

LSU goes down....I kind of expected that.

Gator fans shouldn't get too excited though as LSU's offense is a train wreck.....but Gators played well and deserved to win.

FSU just blew a 16 pt lead at NC St......and likely any shot at a national championship opportunity.

Looks like the Skip Holtz era at USF has reached a brick wall.

I don't blame the fans though......and this should make those folks a bit more appreciative in the future if and when their program turns around......however, the experience of hard knocks is always painful....

I don't understand what the reasoning was to extend his contract when they did.....I would have thought that USF would have observed how stupid that decision was when GOL was given a ridiculous 10 year extension after his second season.

UCF is still paying the price of mediocrity and choke jobs .....with a couple of more up and down seasons yet to be completed .....

Gator fans should be excited about establishing a great running game against LSU's NFL-bound defensive line, though. "Ground and pound" are words we haven't heard since the days of Fred Taylor.

The top five teams are clearly the five best teams. One of the three undefeated Big East teams might crash a Bowl-game party, but these five teams are hands above all others. It is nice when things are so simple.

I'm surprised Florida is ranked #2. This is the first time in recent memory where I feel they don't deserve their ranking, but hey, they're finding ways to win while many teams ahead of them lost. I just don't have confidence in their offense and the defense is only going to carry them so far. On a positive note, a young team like that can only get better as the season progresses.

I think Florida will fall against South Carolina. USC has given them fits in recent years and this season they're more competitive than other years. Either way it should be an entertaining game. Also, you can't forget about Georgia... they're always dangerous due to the atmosphere of the annual rivalry on neutral grounds. Even if FL sweeps the standard schedule, Bama will be waiting... scary. That's what makes the SEC so great though.

Looking at the college football landscape, as bad as Florida's offense has been, I don't think any other team can be #2. Florida has played a rather tough schedule and has won their games, pretty or not. And the Florida defense is one of the best in the country. I think Florida will beat South Carolina and Georgia, setting up a huge match up in Tally toward the end of the season.

I strongly disagree with the strength of schedule. LSU is the only notable victory imo. Kentucky, Tennessee, Bowling Green and Vanderbilt all suck this year. Texas A&M is average in my eyes... they'll need to prove their SEC worth by making the LSU/Bama games competitive. Anyway, FL is going to have to finish their season before they can brag about strength of schedule imo.
