All prospects cant be Embiid, however his shooting was not a fluke it was very impressive and lets not forget he is an extremely late playing basketball he still has alot to learn. Taking him would be a gamble, i am not saying we should do it but we should at least consider it

My biggest issue with him is his BBIQ and fire. He did not stand out in the games I watched him. He really looked like a late 1st round prospect based on what I saw. Obviously his measureables and potential is what has him pegged as a lottery pick because it surely wasn't his play. He was often out of position, a step slow and looked disinterested in being involved. Just what I saw.

It's what most of us saw. Any reputable scouting report on him that speaks highly of his game? I can understand speaking highly of his potential based off measurables and the crude rawness of his game, but to speak of his current game highly would seem suspcious to me.

I think you can definitely question his BBIQ completely valid i think that is because he is still very new to basketball but i dont think the motor is valid he has a very good one and gives alot of effort.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Yeah, like I said, this is just based on what I saw (about 4 complete games; the ones that were televised). Obviously that isn't a large sample but I don't go by what others say. I argued for months with people about Shabazz and everyone came at me with the "scouts say" crap. I was calling Shabazz out a whole year before he even played a minute for UCLA. I'm not trying to be a "know-it-all", I'm just saying that I go by what I see.

I'm still confused as to how suddenly 80% of the posters suddenly became fans of Noah Vonleh's game AFTER the season is long over.

Almost everybody to a man here said ALL NCAA SEASON LONG that he was 100% Meh and would be pissed if we had tanked an entire season away to walk away with him.

VERY FEW people acknowledged liking his game. VERY VERY few. Now post combine....(in which no basketball was played by him btw) everybody is a fan? Im confused.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Not as blatant as this guy, who people say doesn't have potential either...

If you don't believe your eyes and try to go off length and measurables, then you end up taking MKG aka the next Scottie Pippen over Lillard, Beal, Drummond... or Bismack Biyombo over Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard ... that draft was crazy btw... Vucevic, Tobias, Kemba, Faried, Jimmy Butler, Reggie Jackson and bunch more productive players all taken after Biyombo. How about Ekpe Udoh over Paul George, Greg Monroe, Gordon Hawyward, Larry Sanders, Eric Bledsoe, Lance Stephenson... Or one of everyone's all time favorites... Hasheem Thabeet #2 overall over James Harden, Stephen Curry, Rubio, Derozan, Lawson, Taj Gibson.

Bismack Biyombo, Ekpe Udoh, Hasheem Thabeet... Noah Vonleh... Same smell, different fart?

In a nutshell, NBA scouts and execs call it wrong WAY too many times to ever have confidence mock drafts, rankings, combine numbers and scouting reports.

i just go off what i see and while i haven't seen enough i saw a couple of games and i liked what i saw. Either way it's roll of the dice, but it's no different than any prospect in this draft period. I would be content with anyone in the top 7-8 really because if any of those dudes came out last year they would probably gone 1st overall. All i'm trying to say is at the 4th spot, Vonleh IS in the conversation.

If we had a top 3 pick then it wouldn't be a conversation but in the spot we're in now there isn't really that wide of a gap in talent if at all. At the end of the day it's all about what will translate, Smart has things going for him that will translate.....Randle is the same......Exum, not sure but Vonleh certainly has things about his game that will translate. The case that i'm trying make is that people shouldn't be all that surprised if Vonleh gets picked, it's not that far-fetched.

Me personally i would be happy and content with any of Exum/Smart/Vonleh/Randle

Player A) 16.3 Points, 12.3 Rebounds, 0.8 Steals, 2.4 Blocks

Player B) 17 Points, 13.6 Rebounds, 1.3 Steals, 2.1 Blocks

Bosh?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

if we take vonleh, I'am officially off the Henny train. This draft has to be our year we get our guy, and Vonleh is not star material not even close.
