"Porter, 20, was arrested on Nov. 15 after a middle-of-the-night crash when he flipped his Mercedes SUV. He admitted to have been drinking earlier in the evening, and when police searched the car, they found a loaded handgun in the glove compartment and a small amount of marijuana.

A grand jury declined to indict Porter on a felony weapons charge after he was able to prove he didn't know the gun was in the car. Police also determined he was not impaired at the time of the accident. A judge dismissed the misdemeanor pot charge.

In October, Porter raised alarms when he posted a black square on his Instagram with the message "Do you ever wish to see the end of your time?" After Cavs officials and teammates reached out, Porter deleted his Instagram account."

I don't care if we sign him or not, but he sounds like a dumb 20 year old kid with some bad luck. That accident could have happened to a number of my college friends/roommates and they could have found similar things in the car. Everyone has posted that kind of dumb crap on Myspace/Facebook/Twitter/Insta/Onlyfans. Who cares?

Eh , i could make a joke of it, but when you put in perspective his post, his louded gun , his wild behavior along with his father being cold blooded killer ( google it, it's awful... ) and latest Cavs incidend being just one in many, many similar incidents ... I'm not going there.

I’d rather stay away from Porter. This kid needs to get his life in order, and basketball needs to wait. This franchise is in a big enough hole. The last thing it needs is to babysit some guy struggling to be an adult. I’d rather give a really mature G-League guy a shot.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

I want new ownership, a new GM, a new coach, and Vucevic, Fournier, and Gordon gone.

This really is Lakeland Magic we are watching, if someone didn't notice. It is only featuring Vuc and Gordon and playing against NBA teams in regular season.

Man, Jerami Grant is doing a great impression of how I'd hoped Gordon would have blossomed eventually. Fat numbers on a losing team, but still, Grant has become a very good all round baller.

He needs stability, not punishment. Cleveland mishandled the situation and made things much worse. I don’t think the talent is worth the risk, but then I look at our roster... what do we have to lose?

I think his value is team contextual. A contender needing a good C to complete their roster who has assets to spare, like Boston, are probs ideal. He's a finishing piece, not a rebuild foundation piece.

In a deal with Boston I could see 1 of Kemba, Smart, 1 of Pritchard, Neismith, Langford, Williams, Ojelele and 1 pick possibly being offered up.

I don’t want Kemba or Smart. They would make us better. I want to tank.

Could we get Langford AND Nesmith + a 2021 FRP if we take back Tristan Thompson?

Then we need to dump some roster spots or ship out Evan for cash / 2nd rounders.

If y'all do go full tank, the Celtics have that massive TPE from Gordon Hayward going to the Hornets. We wouldn't need to send back any meaningful salary and can just absorb them entirely.

I'd 100% move Nesmith, 2021 FRP and then maybe Theis to a 3rd team for another pick going to Orlando? Our bench is so weak we can't afford to lose Langford unless there is another deal for a guy like PJ Tucker or another legit wing, but I'd give up the rest for Vuc.

I'd be down for AG/Fournier trades as well, but wouldn't want to be moving more than 2021 FRP for either. Vuc is legit though and a good fit.

I think MIN not having their pick and ORL not having their best young guys (and having their pick) are on opposing trajectories this season. MIN wants/needs to win games...in theory, perfect trade partners.

KAT is soft and shoots 3’s all day. They have too many wings...we are lacking wings.

AG should be traded while he’s playing so well. He’d fit well with KAT. MCW is a solid vet who brings The D they lack as well.
ORL needs wing scoring and young upside.

AG + MCW
for Beasley, Jaden McDaniels, Hernangomez (money they regret)

Beasley’s scoring numbers are impressive, but, to my knowledge, he’s not a dominant-type scorer. Spend the rest of this season trying to move Evan (& Juancho?), playing Cole, Bamba, Okeke, McDaniels as much as they can. Don’t drive Vuc and TRoss into the ground in a lost season...That’s 4 prospects with real potential...if two reveal themselves to be good, I’m happy. If we lose along the way, I’m also Okay.

...and, look at other teams with opposing priorities this season (win-now)...couldn’t POR use Evan with CJ out? GSW?

With all of the injuries around the league, even as a rental, Evan should have value. AG also brings the versatility a well-stocked contender should throw away prospects for.

Minnesota gets their pick if it is top 3. They have a lot of incentive to lose a lot of games. They have no incentive to lose otherwise. If they aren't going to be good (they aren't), then they could certainly turn on the tank at some point.
