Not saying i wouldnt want him on the team, would be thrilled if we drafted him, but i just dont think weltman is thinking that way

The way i think they see if, and this was strengthened in my head after yesterday, is that Suggs is our PG, unquestioned. They didnt give up 4 1st for a SG if they thought suggs was gonna move back to SG. Suggs is THE GUY as long as hes here. So hes PG1. With Black not being included in the trade, you have to assume if we included him in the trade, we probably could of removed either the suns pick or '28+'30, they choose not to do that because they value him too much. hes the 6th man\PG2 and i think they feel hes a guy who could become the PG1 one day. so with those 2 set as the PGs, i doubt their thinking is a 3rd young pg. i think the 3rd PG will be an older vet on a league min type deal who can help these guys develop without taking away valuable playing time, much like CoJo last year. I think clayton would be adding more youth to a position that needs some vet leadership

I see either CoJo being brought back, and if not him, someone like him

why cant Clayton be the PG from the bench? because honestly, i dont see Black as a real PG. i see Black as our bench wing defender

Clayton is a converted SG just like Suggs and AB. Clayton didn’t convert until like his 4th year.

I’m not sure why people automatically think he will be a PG. His size is better at PG but he is in the same boat as the others.

He will be fine here playing PG, together with AB as a wing defender, and at any time of the game there will be either Bane, Franz or Paolo on the court to initiate the offense.

Danny Wolf reminds me of Joe Ingles would be cool to see him doing pick and roll with Moe or Franz

Alright... with what has happened, i want our 25th or SRP to be Reyanud or Kalkbrenner. 7ft giants that shoot 3s.

i think that was because he was the best player on the team. but in the NBA, he has shown he isnt a natural PG.

I'm ok with drafting the best available pg or center. An argument can be made for a person who slips further down, but it doesn't have to happen either.

I think part of last year's goal was that he could show that he was the point guard that we needed. Shot 40% from 3 before Paolo 's injury.... And then was not as efficient from then on. The combination of him and KCP was something they thought they could work. But didn't come to fruition with s*** show .... And inefficiency raised its head as he tried to be more than he can be.... At the moment.

But him as a spot up shooter and bane as an everything kind of shooter will be huge for us next season.

Just got a get the team geling together!

Hope Wendell is in the gym right now getting to work. Not just shooting ... But man.... Start throwing that 265lb+ around more often in the paint. Post up. Be another hub for offense again!

I agree.

This is why I like the Bane trade. Because not only does Bane open the floor for Paolo and Franz, we can also keep playing Suggs at PG where he can outmuscle opposing defenders while also not needing to have Suggs be a tablesetter because Bane will be tasked for that.

Breakdown of Suggs year:

Rookie year- played PG- was top 10-ish worst player in nba by pretty much every metric
Second year- played SG, got better
Third year- breakout year playing nothing but catch & shoot SG. He wasn't even combo guard.
Fourth year- return to PG -and complete crash in every single stat

Even entertaining idea of him being "playmaker" with near 1:1 assist to TO rate is idiocracy.

Suggs battle is one of self control. His whole NBA career he has to fight being a knucklehead. If he can do that he can play either position. Got good because of his defense.

Suggs could opt to just lay the ball up, but he opts to do highlight dunks and almost always grabs his back or hands afterward.

That Center from Creighton is one to look at too. He is massive.
