They had that battle tested coach and Dwight didn't like him. He wants a coach that will sing his praises all the time. Dwight is soft.

True. But why try to convince Dwight to stay if you aren't going to hire someone he likes. There is no logic in that type of "strategy".

I doubt HIGHLY that it's true Ben. The dude preaches being prepared, process and procedure and he came to the meeting. "Oh hey Dwight...What's the plan, what plan? I just came to say hey.." This is Dwights camp and it's painfully obvious.

I think the only person dumb enough to go in unprepared would have been Otis. So much spew has been coming out of dwights camp for the past few months that I don't believe Henny would've approached the meeting as it's currently being reported.

I agree to an extent but anytime the Magic has done something he wants he comes up with another excuse. There is enough blame to go around, that is for sure, but Dwight has hurt things far more then the Magic FO in my opinion

Stupid trades shouldn't count. If a stupid trade was made to appease dwight, they should have made him sign an extension before making the trade.

i'm a Henny supporter, so i'm not looking to fuel any kind of hate against him. but i'm wondering what he's done to make everyone feel so assured that he would have gone in to this meeting other than has been reported?

what's he done so far? he cleared house in the FO. he drafted Nicholson and O'Quinn. he picked up JJ's option. he re-signed Jameer. he s&t'd Anderson for Ayon.

none of those moves have screamed of a master plan to me. if anything, it screams of a retread (at this point), much like we've done in previous years. i'm not saying that this is his plan, just saying that he hasn't done anything to put anything in place to change the direction/course of this team so far.

so it's not a stretch to think that he's gone into this meeting thinking a foundation of last year's squad will keep Dwight, and that the most pressing issue is trying to get Dwight back onside.

I agree that moves haven't been made that have wow'd everyone, but I think a lot of us are forgetting that he inherited a mess, a mess that is going to take a few seasons to clean up not just 1. IIRC he was getting bashed for the picks he made at the draft, then everyone saw these guys play at summer league and were all "they were some great picks!". I know it's just summer league so i'm not going to get ahead of myself, but so far those picks have showed me he has an eye for talent.

The other moves his made, I'm not going to really make a judgement at this point. We haven't really seen Ayon play, we don't how Ryno will do without Dwight (from he's performance in the playoffs the last couple of seasons, I don't expect much from him) and the Jameer contract, we don't even know if that is the final numbers yet (correct me if I'm wrong - i'm still going of the report that came out a week or two ago that hadn't been confirmed). I know a lot of people would've preferred some of the other FA's that got signed on the cheap, but do you honestly think they would've signed with us? Especially with those whole Dwight situation going unresolved. I really find it hard to believe that they would've signed those contracts with the Magic, at this point in time.

So, as of right now, Henny still has my trust. I don't think he's done anything stupid just yet, and I'm happy with the picks he's made.

What plan is Hennigan supposed to bring to the meeting? The only thing he can do at this point is try to talk Dwight into being patient til some of these crap deals fall off our books. We can't trade for Ellis or Smith with the crap we have . He may have tried to sell Dwight on the two of them building a good relationship going forward just to look like he is trying to keep Dwight. Hennigan knows there is only one way this can end , Dwight somewhere else

sorry my post cut off for some reason ^^

I see Henny as a smart dude, I really am not buying the reports of him going in unprepared. The media is making him out to be an incompetent tool, and I just don't think he is dumb enough to do what is being reported.

Anyone wanna play some NBA 2K12? We could play a quick game or some Team-Up?

addidas shouldn't be allowed to give larger $$ to go to bigger markets. should be the same amount no matter where they play. the next lockout will be worse

Am I the only one that thinks it's AWESOME we only have two nationally televised games? I have NBA League Pass so I see every game either way.

But at least we won't have to listen to the Job Barry's and Chris Broussard's of the world talk about our team was we rebuild.
