I think we are all OVERREACTING, this is a future building trade. Obviously it's gonna look bad now. Time will tell all

I'm out guys. I'm supporting Our new Magic and Hennigan. I'm excited to see Afflalo and Harkless play for us, and we're loading up picks, cap space and prospects for future trades IMO and to make that rebuilt team that will brim with youth and confidence/hype someday, starting piece by piece now.

Phuck Philly, bitching about giving up Iggy and a mid-1st round pick for the 2nd best center in the league.

Basically every washed up NBA personality is combing the hair (if they have any) and putting on the moth eaten sport coat and begging ESPN to give them a few minutes on TV. And so far they seem to be obliging.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Otis was in the war room holding Henny hostage at gunpoint and told him to pull the trigger.

Sound about right?

Is this for real? Did you forget assets for trading into lotto? Did you forget the Magics own picks?

Yes DSG, you're right. This is a great trade.

You do understand that it's about cap space year to year right? Not total salary? We owed Gilbert $60 mil last year to NOT play, that was salary....but that doesn't matter as it didn't affect cap room. So your question is how to we clear any cap room after making this trade vs not making this trade yeh? Right away (which is sorta irrelevant because there aren't any free agents to go after now anyways)....if we give up Dwight, JRich, Duhon, Clark (obv exact pieces haven't been named but that's prob close)....then we get rid of:

(this year, next year)
Dwight ($19.5, $21)
JRich ($5.8, $6.2)
Duhon ($3.25, $1.5)
Clark ($1.2 or something, $0)

That's $29.75 this year, $28.7 next year We bring in:

Afflalo ($7.75, $7.75)
Harrington ($6.7, $3.6)
Vucevic ($1.7, $0)
Harkless ($1.7, $1.7)

So this year we would pay $17.85 ($12 mil less) and next summer $13.05 ($15.7 mil less). How is this not clearing cap room? Where is your hangup?

We're talking cap space aside from Dwight here. Of course you get cap space from letting Dwight go, we would get the space by letting him walk, that's irrelevant.

The team's goal was to clear bad contracts and we straight up didn't do that. We added salary both long term and short. Aside from Howard of course.

Tank mode for high draft picks ala OKC...

Glad Henny knows going for capspace is useless... who you gonna sign, Dwight Howard? lol

I'll be curious to see if any of the pieces change in the morning. Philly would rather not give up Harkless, but Magic love him.

Thats because no one has perspective. For example, we dont want Bynum because we are doing a full on rebuild which is the right thing to do. But in this twitter era everyone wants changes imediately and in the situation we are in we would be stuck being mediocre with large contracts, no capspace and no draft picks. When we traded Tmac and got back 3 veterans (Francis, Mobley, Cato) that did not turn out very well did it? We did not make the playoffs with those guys, we did not have capspace and our draft position sucked. So if we do the deals that ESPN says we should have done then that would be our destiny- being mediocre.
