I guess PHX didn't play last night (I haven't looked).

The eighth pick is currently among five NBA players that have started every game for their respective team: Saddiq Bey, Detroit Pistons; Kevon Looney, Golden State Warriors; and Mikal Bridges and Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns.

what isnt going to age well?

Chris Paul is out for awhile with that wrist injury

but the key point was about Wagner, not CP3

What is the consensus on whether Franz would be just as good or better if he were a full time PF?

Here on this board: consensus ?!?!?!?

My view: his ball handling is above average for a forward and he is doing well at the 3. With Carter playing more and more 4, this is getting set anyhow.

He's a great 3...his playing style is closer to traditional 2 than 4...but traditional is no longer relevant anyway. I don't see him playing 4 unless it's a very unconventional smallish lineup (muscle not length). If we had a big physical Center, he could be at 4...but that would mean a complete reshuffling of our bigs. Draft notwithstanding, I see WCJ/Isaac at 4 & 5 (I don't care which one you must call Center), with Franz at 3. If we drafted Chet, something has to shift (maybe Chet at 4, Isaac at 3, Franz at 2). I think Jabari also moves Franz to 2...Bottom line, IMO, the titles don't matter, the old labels are no longer relevant at all. Today's PF's are yesterday's SF's...but NOT on our team because we don't have a legit big Center. WCJ is playing very well, but he'd be the first to tell you (as he told CHI) that he's not a Center - but he does pair well with a long defensive-minded other big (like Isaac or, when he's good, Bamba)...that trickles down to Franz and/or Jabari. If we had a big, physical, defensive-minded, pick-setting Center (not 6'8 like WCJ who is very good but NOT a pure C in most matchups), you could have two Franz-types at the forward spots...but we don't...and that's OK, if we can forget the labels and make lineups based on skill sets & compatibility.

Actually Carter is quite big for a modern center. 6'10 seems like a limit for a switching big man build like WCJ. In our current system problem is Bamba who cant guard without fouling.
Even a freak like Embiid cant switch becouse he is too big.
Carter can play both in switch as a center or drop as a big forward. I believe his full potential is as a switching center next to rim protecting forward. Isaac is rare and perfect piece of the puzzle. I am not suprised they are prolonging his rehab. He is a game changer.
Holmgren would act as a drop big but he would also need big body next to him. He could be our plan b but i doubt he can switch.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Anyone with eyes can see Wendell is a bit undersized at center. Better athlete (and wingspan) than he gets credit for though, imo. Holds his own well even against the bigger bigs.

by all accounts measurement wise, he is 6'9 barefoot, so 6'10ish in shoes, with a 7'3 wingspan

My favorite part of that...Guard! He's a natural 3, but I could see him and Jabari on the floor at the same time-call them whatever you want (big wings who can defend perimeter players).

Case in point, I was going to start a new thread to suggest he might be THE guy in this rebuild and a habitual all star (dare I say, superstar).

To back up that last statement, it's more just a feeling I have. As encouraging as his numbers are, they're not eye-popping. But you can sense something special in him.

I'm not saying he's the next Dirk, but he gives me those vibes. There I said it. And I don't regret it one bit.

Ironically, the only "real Guard" is probably the 4th best perimeter defender of that group...and I'm confident Mosley can work with Fultz's physical attributes to get him better (once the dust settles on all of his more pressing issues). Suggs, Okeke, Ross/Harris/Bamba/RJ (?) off the bench...interesting group for sure.
