I think it had more to do with Fox wanting (probably demanding) to be In SA (where his family lives apparently).

Plus we have absolutely no idea what Weltman really offered.

Exactly. Plus this contradicts Windhorst's report that Jeff didn't call anyone. Maybe fielded calls but didn't initiate. I'm not saying Windhorst's report is right and this one is wrong, but I don't know who this reporter is.

Jake Fischer and Marc Stein

Reporters who are x10 more tapped in than Windhorst

Fischer was the first to link Orlando to KCP and has been on the forefront of a lot of things the last few years.

any word on Moe's progress, recovery timeline?

No clue, but he’s definitely not playing in EuroBasket.

I know Mosley mentioned training camp, but I’m still not expecting to see him until December.

I know Stein but never heard of Fischer. Hopefully Jeff did try for Fox because it would've been malpractice not to. I'm still skeptical though. Seems like something would've leaked from the Kings' side to leverage a better offer from other teams.

I doubt we hear anything until the training camp roster is announced, but I expect to see Tristan there with his brother fighting to make the team.

Because there’s no better offseason work you can do than playing FIBA ball.
We’ll get a look at how his 3-ball looks.
There’s no FIBA tourney next year (2026).

can you expand? i still see Chet as a high role player. no consistent offense, needs someone to create for him, great shot blocker. now he may become more, thats just what i see now.

Jake replaced Shams in yahoo. He was getting scoops last year. Credible guy.

I really wish he would take the summer off and concentrate on his shooting.

The best way to practice shooting is no other than to shoot in a live setting. I would argue this is the best way to prepare yourself for the NBA season.

He’s done that with the WorldCup and Olympics and his shot got worse.

For players outside the US (and obvs some inside too) playing for your country is the pinnacle. So it's tough to expect motivated patriotic players to turn down their national team for a tournament and risk being ostracised from future rosters.

That said, i think Franz runs the risk of burnout if he doesn't manage his load and I do agree a summer spent with a specialist on his jumper would be huge for him.

He’s played so many times already on his team, why won’t they let him just sit this one out?

lol that's not how national competitions works or fans view it.

He is 24. Two days of sleep and spa and he'll be like new one.

I am not sure if this EuroCup has any significant to the worldcup or Olympic competition but you’d think they’d give a guy a one year break, especially coming off of an injury and then having to play the remainder games for the season.

My understanding of the vibe is nothing like US NBA players who consider it an honor (for the team  )...these guys WANT to play and rep their country. In a recent bio about Luka - it's clear that it's very important to him.
