With the Wizard beating the Pacers, Washington is currently the 9-seed for the play-ins.
If Detroit beats visiting Chicago in the Bulls next game. Orlando will not draft 15 with this selection.
GO PISTONS !

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
Interestingly, got Chicago 1, Orlando 3 with my daily tankathon spin.
Would you guys take that result? Cade is pretty perfect for Chicago's roster (except for the fact that they have 2 high usage% guys already) and it might improve them a lot next season, but we'd get into Green/Suggs range with our own pick. I guess I would take that deal if it were offered to me, albeit somewhat begrudgingly (because I'm greedy and want that Bulls pick asap).
fwiw the Raptors got the 2, so they might take that big guy.

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
If it means delaying the Bulls pick for a year and we still get top I'm all for it.
We have a lot of young players next season, having another season under their belt before adding another rookie makes sense.
Also it both picks are late lottery (my prediction) we can package them together to move up.

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
Today's tankathon pull:
Orlando 3
Chicago 8
....
Orlando sits tied at #5/#6 with Cleveland
Orlando is a 1/2 game better than #4 OKC
Orlando cannot slot at 7
Chicago sits at #8
Chicago is a 1 1/2 games better than #7 Toronto
Chicago is 1 game worse than #9 Sacramento
Chicago is 4 games out of a play-in slot
(Any combination of a single Pacers win or Chicago loss and the Bulls is out of the play-ins)
The computers have the Magic finishing in a 5-way tied for 2/3/4/5/6 and the Bulls at 8.

With the Spurs sliding, the Pelicans and Kings have too much to play for, and I doubt the Bulls catch them.

But you do know the context of what will happen if CHI gets a top4 this draft and we pick next year right?
That will mean next year, CHI gets a well.meshed Vuv Lavine duo with a seasoned PatWil with a rumored big wallet FA signing PLUS one of the top4 rookies we are hoping for.
You combine all that and if healthy that pick will be in the 20s range probably

If we don't get the Bulls pick this year the Vuc trade was pure trash cause you are looking at a pick in the 20s.

COUple this to a Minny won, and the lottery balls get to-more.

Not really pure trash but not as one-sided as we thought. We still got back a serviceable big plus a chance for a high frp in the 2023?2024? draft. But yeah.. a 20s draft pick in a not so loaded draft is a bummer compared to a mid lotto pick in this very loaded draft.

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
The computers now have the Magic losing out the season, as OKC. It has Detroit and Cleveland picking up one win a piece and Minny winning two more.
If the Rockets win out, Houston is still the NBA's worst team this year. That is now mathematically locked.
