i was 6'1 at 14. ended up 6'2, you just never know

Nerlens Noel, Dwight Howard, and Joakim Noah played PG in high school. Your position in high school means nothing.

I think you missed the point he was making.

completely disagree. Who you play with may affect your stats, but the things you work on, on your own. practice, shooting, getting your defensive rotations down, etc, that isnt dependent on who you play with.

Look at a guy like Kawhi Leonard. He came into the league not being able to shoot. Had he went to the Wizards, his role would probably have been given loads of playing time as an undersized 4 and he might be on his way out of the league. Instead, he went to a team like the Spurs where he basically had to learn to hit corner 3s if he wanted playing time. Most guys in the NBA work hard no matter what. It's the people around you that tell you where to focus your energy. Russell Westbrook, Devin Harris, Jalen Rose, Marcus Thornton. These are all guys whose development all hinged on the guys they played with.

but to get that playing time, it wasnt "who" he played with, instead it was what he worked on. And the coaches are the ones telling you what to work on to get playing time from them

Yeah I am too. I'm soooo ready for some summer league games, or even something to happen in free agency for the Magic, anything to give people something new to talk about. I mean some of these topics and arguments on here are getting old.

Has anybody posted this tweet about Beno? I haven't seen it yet, so I'm sorry if someone did and I missed it. It's not really shocking news but it's something anyways...

Sean Deveney ‏@SeanDeveney
Agent: Beno Udrih "less likely" to return to Magic but "not impossible" 10 tms show interest, he wasn't specific, but I've heard Wiz, Celts

But yeah, not surprising, I'm sure a lot of teams would like to have him as a back up. I enjoyed watching him play last season and I think all and all he did a good job, but it's not a big deal if he goes elsewhere.

Who he played with was the cause of what he worked on. If the Spurs had Lebron instead of Tim Duncan and Splitter, is there anyway that Leonard would be focusing his attention on playing the 3 when the 4 is wide open? The guys you play with make a huge difference. Even on our team. Depending on which of our 8 million dollar vets spends more time playing with Oladipo, his career can go one of a few ways. If he plays, 25 mins a night next to Jameer, he will probably be a lot more comfortable playing off the ball. If he spends those 25 minutes playing point guard next to Afflalo, he probably becomes a guy who is used to having the ball in his hands. If he plays most of his minutes with both Jameer and AA on the court, he probably gets used to just being a scrappy defender who lives off of open shots and layups.

The ultimate example of this is McGrady. Playing with Vince, he was a rebounding, shot blocking, steal grabbing, garbage man that no one considered to ever be more than a secondary option. He comes to Orlando, immediately becomes an unstoppable scoring force, stops defending so hard and looks like a completely different player. Had Hill been healthy, who knows how he would have turned out.

I think you probably get minutes through your own efforts and can be better on the court depending on who you play with. Certainly Mike made people better therefore playing with him made say Steve Kerr better. I would say the Spurs big three are better because they play together, at least 2 of them, Timmy is the best ever and would have been great in a shoebox.

Now this is off topic: The new Transformers ride is pretty sick, if you like that kind of stuff go check it out. One of the best rides ever.

The tanking talk is getting old to you. The main goal of the franchise is most likely to develop our young core and tank (get a top 6 pick in next years draft.) Im sorry if you dont like it but it is most likely what we will be doing. DOnt worry, we will be good soon enough.

Exactly! I also think it's BS when people say "You're teaching young players how to lose." That's such horse shite. You think they don't know whats happening? Although it isn't called tanking, it's called developing young players, it's just tanking and with no targets in free agency it's the best way to try and improve right now.

I think, you think I was disagreeing with him rather than backing his point.

I liked the ride, but it was essentially just a re-skinned Spider-Man ride... I was hoping for a big difference in ride experience (like how different Spider-Man was from any ride before it, or how Harry Potter was so innovative even compared to Spider-Man).

If the deal is right I would welcome him back. He did a good job as a backup, decent as a spot starter, and seemed to work hard all the time. Not much more you can ask for.

I dont think its a good idea. He literally demands way more minutes then we should be willing to devote to him.

The guy bitches and moans wherever he goes unless your giving him at least 25-28mpg

Slightly OT but I just saw NBA 2k14 will feature a dozen or so euroleague teams including FC Barcelona. We may finally be able to see Fran in a magic uni if you can edit the rosters. I hope you can bring players into the NBA from Europe.

No I never said we should tank to get him at all. Im just speculating that this kid is going to have many teams tanking to get him. Did you see the dunks this kid is pulling off at 14 ? Wow ! Now I know they are just dunks, but he is crazy athletic. 6-1 at 14 he is going to grow, his ideal height should be 6'6 to 6'8 wouldnt want to be any taller then that with his game.
