Here's an interesting proposal: Jeff Green for Rudy Gay....who says no?

Interesting, SAC has a shot at making playoffs, and Gay is hurt so there is a need.

We'd have to get something out of it, Both are UFAs so we aren't saving $$. I'd do it for a 2nd rounder though, or maybe we through in Zimm plus a 2nd and they add Skal or Willie?

Gay is under contract for one more year after this one.

Which is a player option which he likely will exercise given he's coming off a torn Achilles, I believe.

Nobody is off the market but Im willing to say that it would take the most to get Vuc. He has put up with a lot of crap this year. I dont blame him for being upset. he has been here the longest and gets treated bad. Hopefully with Serge gone he returns to his old self. He has been our best player lately. If Nets want 2 1st for Vuc, that should be our starting offer too.

Knew he had a player option, forgot about him blowing his Achilles, thanks. I'd still trade them D.J. Augustin for Gay....I'd take 1 year of Gay not playing vs. 3 more years of DJ's contract....

If NO's offers their 2017 first and a prospect for Vuc I think you have to take it. I won't believe Vuc is off the market until the trade deadline passes. I think an offer to good might present itself.

as ive mentioned before its not that I want to trade evan, but if we have a better fit for the team id do it, like Fournier for Wilson chandler or will barton, gives us a better fit at the 3 with ross going to the 2, unless we decide to play evan at the 3 since he has a bigger body then ross

As long as Vuc and Fournier are on the team as our top guys, we'll continue to struggle with leadership, effort and defense.

You don't want to trade them for the sake of trading them, but they're gonna have to go at one point or another. It would be nice if it were sooner rather than later if we could get guys with good attitudes and hustle like Jae Crawford or Faried.

Was interesting to hear Lowe say what I've been saying since the summer that he doesn't believe a defense can work with a C like Vuc/Val/AlJef/Monroe/etc with a PF like Ibaka, because the PF is out on the perimeter mostly these days.

And Lowe and Beck also saying that there are too many offense only no defense C's out on the market already. That's probably why Vuc is off the market - because there's no market or value out there for him.

He is the definition of fool's gold.

That would be ideal but im not sure the Pelicans are willing or ready to deal him. They don't have to many young guys so we'd probably have to get a third team involved.

Vuc should be off the market. He's our best player and he's worth keeping. Curious about the Reggie Jackson rumors. I'm intrigued but not sold. Also, think EP would flourish under SVG. Although, I thought he would flourish under Skiles too...

No one is outright saying the team didn't get along, but did anyone else notice that Ibaka always seemed to be shaking his head out there? It never really seemed like he enjoyed his teammates or vice versa. Understandable for sure. Not throwing shade on Serge for hating being on a crappy team.

It comes down to leadership.....we don't have one. This team is in dire need of a captain, a voice, someone to get in the guys face and call them out when they play effortlessly. Vuc and Fournier are our go-to guys as of now but they are not leaders. As long as we keep riding that wave, we will have the same problems. I still hope AG can be that guy but he is just too passive.
