Nope, expect it to happen sometime after the draft...

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA

Well there is something of a Magic GM update.... Alex Martins is not tipping his hand to the candidates - even they don't know.

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA

One of the personalities involved in the process said Alex Martins is handling this thing really professionally and close to the vest

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA

Said either way, there were zero complaints in how the Magic have handled this process. They have been extremely professional and respectful

Steve Kyler ‏@stevekylerNBA

There was a sense of hesitation at first because Martins is so new to this, but the comment was he has been great regardless of the hire

Not really news, figured I'd pass it along

People seem to want to bash Alex for not doing this at their speed and not getting leaks, info, news... hires.

But I must say I trust Alex completely in this and I have a lot of respect for him. Basketball mind or not, the guy is a professional and seems to be sincere and trustworthy.

The guy is doing the best he can do for the Magic.

Probably wont even have a coach by the time the draft starts. This is just downright pathetic. I can see why dwight wants out, i just hope the next rebuild goes better

This right here is everything that has been pissing me off about this board. We all want a GM but maybe, just maybe, there's a good reason that we don't have one yet. This dragging out as long as it has makes me upset to, but stop dissing your own team just because you haven't gotten what you want. Makes you all sound like children.

But seriously, if bower is the guy, why the wait? Dudes not working for anyone, is he?

Isn't the Blazers without a GM too or i'm mistaken? And they have #6 and #11.

Nope. They hired their new GM about a week after Cho was fired.

Yes they hired a GM but it wasn't after Cho was fired - Cho's been with Charlotte for over a year now- they hired neil olshey who moved from the clippers just a few weeks ago when he realized donald sterling wasn't going to pay anyone anything- which means in all technicality the clippers are without a GM right now

I have to agree. The situation he came into was not ideal. Alex has not and will not drag his feet. He has been professional and curteous. He is taking time, and as a die hard Magic fan it's driving me NUTZ but I admire his value into doing this right. He has a lot on the line, or shall I say the team does, so we'll see.

And if he ends up hiring Bower?

If he ends up hiring Bower I'm gonna have a real hard time taking his word seriously anymore. The one thing he stressed in that press conference was he was looking for a GM with championship experience. Both the other two candidates have that, and Bower MOST CERTAINLY does not. It'll be tough for me to take anything seriously if he hires the guy he knows rather than the guy who would do the best job.

No complaints. I'd rather see Lindsey.
