Local media reports that a small trade might follow. I personally expect Redick to be shipped for a combo big.
Ah I see you have forgotten something called BYC. Redick actually can stop any trade. Remember as with Gortat they can't trade Redick if he is not happy with it.
Personally I expect another player to be traded for a center like the one the Kings are offering. He was a lottery pick who they now rarely use, but he fits the Magic needs really well. All the Kings need is a pg to help them out.
I really don't see the Magic holding on to 4 pgs. That just doesn't make any sense.
you are confusing two very different things.
byc makes it more difficult to trade in terms of ingoing/outgoing salaries, but it's something that can be pretty easily dealt with by nba gm's.
it has nothing to do with a player having controll over where he's traded to.
there are a few circumstances where players' consent is needed for them to be traded, and one of those circumstances is when a player is a restricted free agent, gets an offer sheet and his team matches.
once that happens, the player's consent is needed for any trade in the first year after the offer sheet was matched.
that's why you couldn't trade gortat without his consent, and same with reddick.
but it's a seperate issue from being b.y.c. - even though reddick is b.y.c. by coincidence - this being his first year under contract...
and just fyi - even if reddick gives his consent - you are not allowed to trade him to the team that made the origional contract offer - chicago...
