I don't think D12 thinks that deep. It was "shutup for now or we'll trade you to X team" (not NJ).

and he bit.

Wrong. Dwight opting in was all about Loyalty and about how he could NEVER leave Orlando.

As @KBergCBS reports, Cleveland's legit 3rd-team scenario for Kris Humphries. Cavs want draft pick sweetener to take him on, sources tell Y!

Oh so they WANT a draft pick to TAKE on him ?

That makes no sense why would we give them a pick to take him when were the ones trying to get as many picks as possible?

A sweetener to take him? He's a free agent... That is the dumbest statement I've ever seen in all of these trade discussions.

I thought the point of holding out was to get other teams to increase their offers?

We've held out and have gotten less.

Rebuilding and Brook Lopez on a max contract are two things that don't go together.

Like Chris Duhon and the 8-second rule.

In the NBA it is what have you done for me lately and Bynum dominated last year, sometimes looking like the best big in the game when Kobe was out with injuries. He also didn't miss a game last year.

They have no need for Howard with an improving Bynum.

The Nets on the other hand need Howard to complete their big 3 scenario. If I'm Rob and I want to rebuild from scratch, I work with the Nets, but I also make them do all the leg work, which they will do.

The Lakers won't do any leg work and will actually try and screw us. That I guarantee you.

So the cavs want a first rounder to take on Humphries.

Lopez will get a max deal, a C who averages what 7 rb/game for his career

If I'm also correct, the Nets don;t have the cap room to take on any of our bad contracts?

So, Dwight straight up for a Maxed out Lopez, A late first rd SG (Brooks) and two more late first rd picks?

This is what a top 5 player in the NBA gets us? Because he wants to go to NY?

If this happens, I'll call bullsh*t on this whole damn establishment. I will seriously boycott the NBA all together. I was ok with losing Dwight to FA or for fifty cents on the dollar but this is worse. Lopez's contract value would be such that we would have to give up the picks just to move him for cap space.

This will have be worse than the Vince Carter or Pau Gasol deals. This will have been a steaming pile of dogsh*t.

Many speculating that Cavs are team that would take Kris Humphries as part of DH12 deal 2 Nets. But told "nothing substantive" with Cavs now

I doubt Lopez will be on a max deal. More like 10 million a year deal. Add in Brooks and you are looking at 12 million a year combined which would save us 8+ million a year since Howard is going to make 20+ million a year.

The sticking point is moving Hedo and JRich for nothing back.

Cavs fan here...

This makes no sense for Cleveland unless we get a first back. We have Thompson/Varejao/Zeller. Humphries doesn't fit in. I am not saying Hump is bad, he just doesn't fit in here.

And Fwiw, even if Cleveland did send back a pick, it would certainly be Miami's 2013 1st round pick....not their own. Even that is highly unlikely.

The reason Dwight should be appealing is his defense, not his offense. He is much, much better than Bynum on the defensive end, which is really what LA needs out of their center, much moreso than a dominating scorer.

As long as MarShon Brooks is included in this latest deal, I'm okay with it.

Am i reading this correctly: Brook Lopez averages 3 rebounds a game? OUT OF YOUR 7 FOOT CENTER?

Hey guys.

I know you hate Nets fans and the Nets but Lopez did not average 3 rebounds a game. Last season he only played in 5 games off the bench in limited minutes.

Overall he averaged 8 rebounds, 9 rebounds, and then had a big drop off his third year where he averaged 6 rebounds. But never worse than that.

Just trying to clear that up for you guys. Not here to argue with anyone about the merits of the deal.
