LOL 8 assists? He's averaging 5.6 and clearly his assists are going to be high when he handles the ball so much. Carter averaged >5 APG every year in NJ including his last year before he got traded to Orlando. Not to mention Arenas is shooting 39% from the field and 32% from 3. The fact that he's only averaging 2 more PPG than Vince on a team with no options is telling enough. Arenas is likely a better player than Vince at this point but not by as much as many of you think he is. Also as Last Guardian is trying to portray, just because a player plays decently on another team doesn't mean he's going to fit into the system here. How is Gilbert going to play when he realizes he needs to share the ball with Dwight, Jameer and Rashard? As Last Guardian said, different player, same problem.

I think that getting Arenas is a better move for us than getting JRich/Hedo.

For one, you have to follow me here... You know I am a big Jameer basher as him as a starter, but with Arenas at the 2, I think Jameer would be a fine starting PG. Arenas can help bring the ball up court, he is an excellent passer when he wants to be, and he would compliment Jameer in that way. Ball movement.

Defensively, Arenas could supplant Jameer at PG when we are facing bigger PGs...the kind that Jameer has difficulties guarding (esp in the playoffs). So we could bring Jameer off the bench as a 6th man at times. His instant offense could be a real spark off the bench.

Third, Arenas knows how to drive to the rim and finish or draw fouls. He has always been a leader in the league at FTAs. ...and his shooting is known to be clutch.

Personally, I think our biggest problems have been from our backcourt positions. Getting Arenas would be like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Our backcourt would be sick.

PG Nelson
SG Arenas

or

PG Arenas
SG Redick

If we can somehow pull off Lewis/Gortat to Phoenix for Turkoglu/Richardson (I know we'd need to increase our offer, just talking about basics of a deal), then our team would really be in a position to make a legit run at the championship.

PG Arenas
SG Richardson
SF Turkoglu
PF Bass
C Howard

6th Nelson

Hey I guess I could dream right? lol.

If we land Arenas & Hedo, we EASILY have the worst gm in basketball.

Thank god the hockey guy was the gm in 04, or else Otis would have drafted Okafor. This guy is a joke.

Then the trade would be Rashard for Arenas straight up.

If we do deal with the Suns, I would think SVG would really want Frye here. Just sayin'.

vince IS a better passer than arenas. vince is one of the best passing SGs in the league. it just hasn't shown through in orlando at all, mostly by virtue of the offensive system that we employ. watch his nets clips on youtube sometime.

How does that have to do with anything I said? You've clearly gone to the NoLimitz world of debating. When proven wrong resort to calling them a Vince fan! I clearly stated that Gilbert is likely a better player than Vince right now but the difference isn't as big as some people like to believe. Not to mention you have no rebuttals to anything Last Guardian or I have said in regards to Gilbert.

Do you ever have anything substantial to say?
The other thread you got dissected by eyeriq & Hilltop & kept on with great refutes like he suxorz, I see what I see!

Anytime anyone tries to explain things to you in a reasonable fashion you dismiss it with some off handed remark.
