I'd actually take Lopez, Humphries, and a mountain of 1st rounders over Gasol (30 something year old PF/C)/Bynum (bad knees, horrific defender).
Howard isn't winning anything in New Jersey with just Williams. Also it seems to me he just doesn't want to be in Orlando so ship him out, get some young players and 1st rounders to rebuild.

JRich is a better player, IMO.
I disagree, both are horrible defenders, the difference is one can create his own shot. Also contract wise Jamal Crawford>Jason Richardson.

Dwight's gone. NO WAY we win anything with this looming over the players. It will be a distraction.

Unless we make a trade for a star we'll need to manufacture one...

If there is no more roster changes, we basically would have the same first round team + Davis, Davis is a big upgrade over Bass but, he is not going to be the key of the Eastern Conference Finals.

If Dwight leaves and we somehow end up with Okafor that will be strange.

yes, you're right. What are we, like a 4th or 5th seed? Probably MIA, CHI, are in front and NYK, and IND will be good. There could be surprises with individual players showing growth, but ECF looks highly unlikely if this is it.

J-Rich needs to kick rocks.....Too inconsistent and virtually brings nothing to the table that Redick can't emulate

I think our untimely first round exit was more due to the injuries at the end of the year than the team. I think with the improvements we made and if we can stay healthy we can go deep in the playoffs.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

Well if you look at the Roster as is we have talent but if this is the roster we have moving forward then we have to depend of some of our players having big years....
Starters
Nelson-13/5/1
J-Rich- 15/2/2
Hedo- 14/4/4
Davis- 14/8/1
Howard- 23/13/3
Those are numbers that i like for our team as it stands...is it realistic? maybe not but i don't think those numbers are too far out of the possibility....Nice Balance of scoring...Defense on the other hand is a different animal

Yeah, it should be highly competitive. I don't see Atlanta or Indiana making a strong push for a top 4 seed but New York with their Amare/Melo/Chandler core will be very strong. They still have a lot of moves to make imo before they jump into that 'contender' tier but if anyone is going to do it and push the Magic out of the top 4 it would be them. Though I think Boston is more likely to drop out of contention before the Magic do, as long as we keep Dwight.

How many times have I said that ?! Since the end of last season and before the lockout even started. He's not winning a title in Brooklyn, so why not wait a year when orlando has cap and bring Dwill to us it doesnt make sense unless he just doesnt want to be in Orlando.
thats the thing. If you listen to him, he doesnt want to be in Orlando, and Otis and his relationship is the main reason.

Make what mistake twice? Draft an egotistical, attention whore, thats going to leave us for the big lights of LA regardless of what the team does to keep him? It might be to late for that Snaq.

With only one day until the NBA's amnesty clause option expires for the 2011-2012 season, it looks like the Spurs are not going to use theirs on Richard Jefferson.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
Robbins rolled out a bunch of tweets.
If LA offers Bynum and Gasol yes, if NJ keeps same offer, no trade.
Agreed, just like DA said today on NBA.com. Dwight says he privately recruits players but haven't heard anything publicly. Some players just aren't like that tough, see D. Rose.
His skills can't be replaced but his deficiencies can be addressed and you can come out worse, but not that bad off overall.
I don't think trades will get worse as the season progresses. Other than NJ, teams will be losing players regardless of whether they trade him or pick him up, they'd need cap space. Basically this is just LA.
You can watch the video of Dwight Howard discussing his trade request today here: ht.ly/80Vsr

@andresa_21 What star-quality players do you think the Magic can acquire? A star won't commit until Dwight commits & Magic don't have assets

You can count on 1 hand the players who have both the skill AND charisma that Dwight has. Magic will not get that back.

The #Magic may (or may not) get good players in return for Dwight Howard. They will never get fair value, though.

The mistake of not being LA or NY obviously.

Hey guys, I wanna read you opinions about Travis Outlaw. He's an attractive player to sign and has been amnestied by Nets.
If we decide to trade Dwight+Turkoglu's contract. Don't you think that he could be a useful player to sign to be our starting SF? I do.
