Re: The Anthony Black Thread
IMO yesterdays game showed, that even without a 3pt shot, AB can still be a REALLY good starting pg in this league
yes the 3pt shot needs work, but the difference between him and other non shooters is he does things off ball to impact the game. yesterday he showed he is a good cutter which he also showed in college, he gets to the foul line and initiates contact and is a good defender. Players at 6'7'', with that high of IQ and passing, athletic and play defense are just so hard to find. We got a good one guys

I'll be shocked if Ingles isn't shooting 38%+ from deep on 7 attempts per 36 by the end of the season...

Kind of hope he's shooting 40% (as usual), but only on 4 or 5 attempts because Jett has taken some minutes.

yah it looks like Ingles has averaged about 7-8 threes Per 36 the last 3 seasons. We obviously don't want Ingles playing any where near 36 minutes a game....
If he's washed, its a one year deal, and hopefully Houstan steps up and takes his shot. Even if Ingles is washed as an athlete, it's hard to believe he is going to forget how to shoot...or pass. I guess i think we are overreacting on Ingles slow start, and think his track record will prevail...but he is 36, the skills that have made him relevant seem like the types of skills that don't just evaporate

Yeah...I don't think he's washed. Never been "athletic", just crafty. I'm happy to have him, Houstan, Jett on the bench, ready to come in firing away. One of them will have a big shooting night every few games. Hopefully, it's enough to raise the team and, HOPEFULLY, Jett is a lot more than a designated shooter like Kennard, Hield, Duncan Robinson...nothing wrong with that, just hoping for more!

I agree. Also, if we are going to give significant minutes to Ingles, he needs to be used more as a ballhandler and passer IMO, he's very good at running the pick and roll he is wasted if he's only standing in the corner on offense, especially when paired with our average playmaking PGs. He's spent too much time so far watching the Cole show and not being involved. Obviously he needs to shoot better too.

Great vision, great length, defensive presence is elite, has terrific shot selection, and finds ways to involve himself in every possession.

Wait…who’s the most “efficient” PG around again?
I don’t feel I’m getting carried away with a limited sample…this is who he’s supposed to be. Play the man, he’ll have bad nights but let’s get to the future sooner. I like the threes, but I’m not even basing it on that continuing.

He has a natural feel for the game you can't teach and it's not afraid of the moment. That's half the battle.
