So can White perfom offensively at the same level against bigger, more athletic players?

Also, if you play White at the 3 I think he'll have real trouble guarding athletic SF's. But he might be the best player available and as much as I want the Magic to draft an athletic, 2 way SG or SF, there probably isn't a good option available at 19 or maybe even in this draft.

Not related to Royce White, David Thorpe put something on ESPN Insider regarding the Magic's draft needs. Has anybody seen that piece?

How would he have trouble guarding athletic SF's? The dude is 6'8" 270, with amazing body control/footwork.

How many athletic NBA SF's play at 270 lbs? Lebron is an athletic anomaly and he probably plays at 260. Rudy Gay plays at 230, Danny Granger at 230, Kevin Durant at 235, Iggy at 207, etc. So White's going to be signficantly heavier (and slower) than most SF's.

Here's what DX said about White's defense: "His lack of size and elevation may limit him as a defender in the basket area, and his extra weight limits his lateral quickness and ability to step out and defend on the perimeter. He also seems to coast from time to time defensively, which is something NBA coaches would likely have less tolerance for."

i believe Artest played defense at SF/SG very well at 270-275. of course, that isnt the average.

Yea TRob is a good player but I think Drummond has A LOT more upside, although TRob is more likely not to be a bust.

Plus PF is the one spot we have a good young player.

It has PJII at 15, Harkless 16, T. Jones 17, Arnett Moultrie 18, Us taking Sullinger at 19, with Kendall going 20th, Royce White 21

It also has us grabbing Chris Johnson in the 2nd round. It says he impressed in OKC with his combination of shooting, length, and athleticism. Man, Mr. Irrelevent this year is presumed to be Kevin Jones. Am I crazy for think an undersized 20/10 guy will still have a productive NBA career, love that guy.

I'd be pretty surprised if we passed on Kendall Marshall for Sullinger.

+2..............Get it done Henny

BTW whoever referred to Hennigen first as "Henny" gets a +1 because his moves over the past 24 hours have been nothing short of Hennessy straight with no chaser! I agree with everything he's done so far besides the Adonal firing. He was very intelligent, knowledgeable of the game, well respected around the league and had the interpersonal skills to relate with those within organization and players. I guess he just wasn't in Henny's long term plans. I thank the Lord that Henny retained my friend however.

I see a lot of ppl wanting Lamb there on Twitter as well. Just not a big fan of his. I think Lillard will be the better player, but just my opinion.

I agree. PG is the more valuable position to fill too.

A few people were hating on Bernard James a few weeks back, well he worked out for the Magic on Sunday. http://floridastate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1379027

6'10" 230 PF/C, 164 career blocks in 69 games played at FSU for 2 seasons. Averaged 11 pts and 8 rebs last season.

I've seen a few recent mocks with him going mid-to late 2nd rd. Draft Express has him going at the 5th pick in rd 2.

Don't know much about him but, if he was around the 49th pick with those numbers, I'd definitely take him.
