that's not a playoff team yet so we go to the lottery once again and package those 1st round picks we got in the dwight trade to move up in the draft and get SF jabari parker to pair with muhammad and lopez. by the 2014-2015 season we're looking like the OKC thunder a few years ago with an over paid center (but if he's healthy can still put up 15-20ppg) - that's not so bad right?

You would have to be EXTREMELY lucky like the Supersonics/Thunder were......

No.
Hell no.
That's a defeatist mentality that leads to a team getting defeated a lot.

There is ZERO reason for Henny to take this crap deal now.

All of our rookies would be earning rookie salaries, so we could then sign a MAX player. Not too bad, we need to think long-term.

There's just way too many rumors flying around for it not to be true. If this trade is finalized the Magic are not only going to be horrible, but we're not even going to be remotely close to being fun to watch.

Most likely I'll still stick with the new guys, or I'll pass on following the NBA all together. Even though Brook Lopez isn't as horrible as people make him out to be.. But if I have to watch this stiff white guy for 82 games... Horrible!

Yes its bad. I do not want a center who can't rebound and defend in the ONE position you NEED rebounding and defense. Just remember, Bill Russell.

My problem here is the Magic are not bad enough. Meer/JJ/Hedo/Baby/Lopez is way too good to make a run at a top 3 pick and way too bad to make a decent run. Limbo.

They're just waiting for the dust to settle.
They are enjoying the hell out of this. Because once they see what New Jersey is offering, they aren't negotiating blindly any longer.

Henny won't accept this deal without going back to EVERY other potential suitor for a final offer first.

After this trade, the Magic will still be better than the Nets.

Exactly, it wont be finalized today, IMO. Magic need to check on Lopez's foot too.

This is my exact plan, but right now we are way too good for that. You don't package a bunch of late 20s picks and move up into the top 3 for a guy like Shabazz or Jabari Parker.

For this plan to work, there needs to be more moves to follow.

From what I've read Coach K and other say about Jabari Parker…. You either get the 1st pick and get him and feel lucky…..or you don't…..I don't think there will be any trades for him….Unless something happens it seems like he destined to be the first pick that you can't pry away from a team...
