Lin's good enough to make Dwight better. all the complaints you have about Dwight's lack of offense won't matter half as much as long as he's got a PG who can get him the ball in effective spots.
and, as mentioned, between Asik, BBD, Donatas, Patterson, White, Parsons and KMart's expiring, they've got enough talent on that team to bring in significant upgrades in the future. much more than any current Magic player would ever land, that's for sure.
Dwights lack of offense will always matter. Relying on Jeremy Lin (lmao) to make you look better would be a very sad time for Dwight, a supposed superstar. Needing help to win it all is one thing, but needing help to make you a more effective player is something else. That is an obvious glaring weakness in him being a franchise player and I am not sure why you so swiftly ignore it.
And that supporting cast is terrible no matter how you spin it. Jeremy Lin would be his best teamate. And no, Jeremy Lin is not a good enough PG to help Dwight out. The two of them would be the most TO prone combo in the league. That Houston team would just not be very good, especially in the West.
i think you're too blinded by Dwight's limitations to actually accept how effective he is. and if you think that the fact Dwight needs help to be more effective knocks him down a few notches from superstar then you're just a flat out hater with no ability to rationalize.
Lin is one of the top ranking PGs at finding his man in the paint, and he did that with Chandler and Stat. He'll do just fine with Howard.
KMart is better than JRich and JJ, and he's still a threat to get to the line frequently, even if the new rules have slowed him. That alone is a difference maker - we never had a player who could even get to the line when needed.
Parsons and White aren't as good as Turk, but they've got similar skill sets, and they've also got something called heart and hustle. Turk hasn't played like he's cared for several seasons now.
do you really rate last year's Magic squad over that potential Houston lineup?
